jmw2309, if you want to run a 65W test I've done the maths for you. To hit 65 you need a coil of 0.451 ohms. This will be on the limits of the M65 though. Also, bear in mind, because you're on the limits as soon as the battery volts drops you'll hit one of these limits and the power will drop. With other mods the output would drop but they won't drop the settings to reflect that - the display would still show 65 Watts even though you wouldn't be getting that. 65 Watts is only possible with a freshly charged battery, for a short period, and only with a 0.451 ohm coil.

As jmw2309, unless you actually need a new battery for something else it makes no sense at all buying one for this.

I am just about to build my mutation x this morning so will be looking to try and get it up to 65w build skills permitting so will see what happens! Use the VTC4 for the test, I wouldn't recommend the efests over 50Watts.

^^^ As above. To join a forum then plug something you made/wrote isn't strictly wrong, but does make some suspicious - I'm #1 on that list.
Really good to see you came back tho thumb up

My conclusions from the last 2 days - 2 Purple efest 35a I have used have suffered no wattage drop 1 vtc5 suffered drop @ 40% battery life 1 vtc4 suffered no wattage drop There seems to be no rhyme or reason as far as I can see. Only used indoors as room temperature so mod hasn't got cold or anything. All we can surmise is there's a problem with the VTC5. At least it seems to be working for you atm, but the real test would be higher power levels.

They sent a replacement without asking for the other back. I've not had an issue with them - but then it's not like I buy a lot

Volts Mode would be a good workaround. At least setting it to 4.5 Volts will protect you from burnt hits.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear. In theory as long as everything is clean and tight ohms should not wander of it's own free will.
Is the pin on the kayfuns adjustable? Could you lower it a bit? <<<Forget that, I think the pin holds the positive post in. Some do add an o-ring under it tho, to extend it a little.
Back to the thread: VTC4 has just died at 3.39 Volts - no Watts drop.
