Hmm, there's a big difference between fully discharged and half discharged though. I'll check the voltage with my multimeter next time the battery stops working in the Cloupor. I should have said possibly instead of probably.

Well it seems I wasn't imagining it when I thought the batteries in my Cloupor weren't lasting as long as they used to, after that incident with the cable heating up. With the new batteries and a Nitecore USB charger, when the Cloupor reports the battery is flat, I put it in the charger and it shows it still has 50% capacity left! Is there any chance there's something I can fix in the Cloupor or should I just buy a replacement? That is probably about right. The Cloupor has internal battery protection to stop you discharging your batteries too much and damaging them. If I recall right it is 3.5v or 3.3v that the cloupor cuts off at, and then your charger would not show it fully discharged. And a full discharge is bad for the battery life, and also may make it impossible to recharge.

None of the above would work. I just checked on my zero and the centre pin is reverse threaded, as is the one linked

Great idea for narrow spaced coils. For wider ones, I've seen myself using a wood screw instead of a a rod for winding, follwing the threads. That works too

Make a parallel coil then remove one of the coils. It gives an even spaced coil

I hate the look of that raised light on the Kangxin Mini VF. Why couldn't they have made the glass/perspex cover flat? This 60W VW Variable Wattage APV Box Mod from FT looks nice. Alas it is 60 warts though (Sorry been watching to many Victor videos )
