I'm currently using Clover 2500mAh spinner batteries with a mini Protank v2. My friend gave me his Cloupor mini and another friend's lent me a dripper but I need to get a tank for it and don't know much about them, so would appreciate some suggestions.
Ideally I want to get a fairly large tank, about 5ml, to minimise refilling. I probably refill my mini Protank about three times a day, so I might get through a whole day on 5ml. The dripper I've got has an adjustable air intake ring with various size holes but even on the smallest one it creates a nice cloud but it tends to whistle a bit when sucking on it, which is a bit antisocial to use in public, so I want to try and get something that doesn't do that. I like that the dripper has large coils and mounting posts, so it's easy to rewick, whereas on my mini Protank I find it almost impossible to rewick them without breaking the coil (presumably by pulling it out of place) as the coils are so small that I either can't get the cotton through it, or I end up with a wick too small to stop the coil getting flooded.
I've always understood the best way to vape is slow steady draws, which works OK for me with the Cloupor mini at around 10W. At higher settings it tends to get too hot. My friends tend to do short sharp draws, which allows them to use higher wattage but I prefer the method I use as it feels more relaxing and the other method feels a bit weird to me. I'm quite happy with the vape and cloud at 10W anyway, so I don't really need to go any higher.
So, any suggestions?

A Kanger Subtank Mini (4.5ml) is pretty quiet if you keep the airflow down to one or two holes (not wide open) but as it's a 22mm tank it'll overhang the Cloupor Mini by a millimetre or so. Adding your own coils to it's RBA base won't be much different to your dripper or you can buy excellent pre-built heads (either 0.5 or 1.2ohms) and rebuilding them is much easier than the tiny Protank heads. If the slight overhang bothers you too much, I'd recommend you take a look at the Erlkonigin (6ml) which is 21mm wide although some find the sound of it's airy draw (not a whistle) annoying.

The erl is a good shout. Easy to fill also. Look on FT for the clone.

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys. phtumshk, yeah I'd like to get something I can at least rewick easily, if not recoil, as I change flavours a fair bit (I've just started mixing recently, so once I work out what flavours I like best this might not be such an issue) and it's nice to be able to use a clean wick to avoid contamination from the previous flavours. ceedee, the Kangar Subtank Mini looks good, nice large capacity and I don't care about a slight overhang. Nice kit of stuff it comes with too. The erl does look quite sexy but I may find the sound of the airy draw not to my liking, so I think I'll try the Kangar first and see if that satisfies me. smarties, thanks for the photo of the Subtank on the mini Cloupor, confirms the overhang isn't an issue. My Cloupor's black, so it won't look quite as cool Perpetua, I've been a bit cautious about the full-sized Protank as I read some comments that it was somewhat inferior compared to the mini, although perhaps the v3 has corrected any deficiencies. Not being able to easily rewick it would be an issue for me though and it's only 2.5ml, so not ideal. dreamylittledream, the Subtank nano does look nice but again is fairly low capacity at 3ml, so the Subtank mini at 4.5ml will be better for me I think. So yeah, I guess I'll get the Subtank mini I found it on Amazon for £20.48, which seems quite reasonable. I noticed one of the reviews says it makes quite a racket with any of the air holes open though (I guess that means it can be used without any of them open but I'm not sure how well it would work then) www.amazon.co.uk/SmashingDealsDirect-Exclusive-Kanger-Subtank-Hybrid/dp/B00SYC9EXK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1430012310&sr=8-3&keywords=kanger+subtank+mini Apparently it also drinks juice, which I guess isn't surprising considering the clouds it produces but I wonder how much that's going to cancel out the benefit of the larger capacity tank. Also read that you need to be careful to make sure your battery is suitable to drive subohm coils if using the 0.5ohm coils, does the Cloupor mini satisfy this requirement? Can you tell someone gave it to me and I haven't got a clue about this stuff yet?

I've never found the Protank 2 to be inferior doveman, which is my preferred model over the dual coiled V3 . . . and the heads are a doddle to coil, they have to be for me to be able to manage them. Although I do also enjoy using the Subtank, it will go through eliquid so be prepared for re-filling if you intend to sub-ohm. Have you the authentication card for your Cloupor Mini? There were some issues with the early ones . . . the code started with 0000, since then all seems to be well and they are a great little device. I use these batteries in mine: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-GENUINE-SAMSUNG-INR-IMR-18650-25R-2500mAh-20-35A-Li-Mn-3-7v-BATTERIES-CASE-/181692336189?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a4db5083dclk_rvr_id=820769173934&rmvSB=trueTorchy is also another reliable source: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/big_f_d_d?_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2754

OK, I might get the Protank 2 as well then and I might find it better to use when out, as even though it's only 2.5ml it might still last longer, considering that the Subtank drinks juice. Is it the Protank 2 v2 you've got? I was given my Cloupor Mini by a friend, so I'll have to ask him where he got it from and if he has the card. Thanks for the links for the batteries, how long do they generally last before needing replacing?

Is it the Protank 2 v2 you've got? It is indeed doveman. If you do get one . . . . give me a shout and I'll pop a pack of the FT ready coils in the post to you, which you'll be able to use in the mini as well. They might help show how straightforward these really are to re-coil. I was given my Cloupor Mini by a friend, so I'll have to ask him where he got it from and if he has the card. Thanks for the links for the batteries, how long do they generally last before needing replacing? It would be worth checking if it's one of the early ones or not . . . . the batteries last me a decent time, as I only use my sub tanks in the evening at home. Big clouds of vapour don't make for a stealthy vape in the loos at work.

Naturevape do a lovely little tank. They use their own, modified, heads and even send you a ball of cotton to rewick with. I use one, also a mini, on my Cloupor minis and they're great for flavour etc.

I'll bear them in mind for the future.
