Haha Lilac, glad you're liking it. I've just gotten round to my first maintenance job on it, not cleaned since it was bought, 3 months ago :-[ I got some brasso wadding, that stuff is really great, it gets rid of all the gunk on the threads, and brings the Mako back to a new state, all shiny and gleaming, nice. And some WD40 dropped into the little hole on the button has solved the sticky button issue. All is good in Mako land

I practically gave them away lolli, £25 the pair with batteries to a friend of a friend. My Mk2 is so much smoother and looser (the button). Its very nice to use, the total opposite of my SD1's. On the SD1, it really was hard work. Had to press real hard, and even then it would not always connect. Sucking golf balls woulda been easier

There's 2 versions of the SD. A few on here including me, bought the SD1 a few months back from the Screwdriver website, but had a bit of bother with them. It was all highly frustrating, as they're renowned for their unbreakability. Both of mine broke down > and got sent back for repair. By this time I'd had enough, and sold them on. The SD2 I bought a bit after this, from totally wicked. Never had any such problems with this one. I was going to sell it as I'm not keen on the 901 atty, but since I've started using an adapter to enable use of 510 atties, it's turned into a very decent bit of kit.

Nice post Lilac, you got that spot on I use the tornado during the day for out and about, work etc. Back home, I alternate between the SD2 and the Mako, and the batteries from each last for 2 days - vaping between say 4pm to midnight. They are still going on the 3rd night, but I change them anyway to avoid confusion lol... so, you'll definitely get a full day from the Mako's batteries. I've got spare batts for both, but they're still in the wrappers, both sets of original batts are still going strong, approx 3 months each so far.

I used to be paranoid about getting carts mixed up with different flavours, but really, most flavours blend into one another eventually without too many dramas.

Hello lolli Using the same atty/liquid between the Tornado and the Mako, you can notice the difference. The vapor feels smoother and more full when it's in ya gob. Not sure how or why this is. I'm no technophobe on these things, but its just a more 'luxurious' vape to me. That's not to say the Tornado's crap, far from it. I've just bought a Riva set to take on my hols with me tornado's - spares aplenty. I know they'll not let me down, very reliable, and with LR atties for them, I'll be more than happy with them. Just don't want to take the Mako outa the house, its too precious

Yes Lilac, I'm glad you think it's too powerful with LR atties, so it's not just me that's a wimp I use my LR atties on the Tornado/riva, that gives a comparable vape to the Mako with normal atties. It took me a while before the button locking thing registered, I'm sure you'll get it sussed. If you get stuck or think something is wrong with it, you can always call Tim from smokejuice, his number is at the top of his website. I've just called him, left a message as he was on busy. My button needs some attention, its working ok, but its starting to become a bit sticky. When it was new, it was so smooth, so I guess its just some kind of lubrication needed.

I can't remember if the threads on the atty were dirty when I got it, i don't think so mind. I use a bit of tissue to clean inside there, as I do drip a lot these days as opposed to using carts, and the juice does get in there, but it's easily removed. Glad you're enjoying it, It's my favourite. Using the same atomiser on each of my e-cigs, the Mako always comes out best, it's a nice full on vape. Gob fulls of vapor I tend not to use LR atomisers on mine, as it doesn't need it, a normal atty on the Mako is enough power.

Kath, Your little story of yesterday rang so many bells for me , and I suspect many others, we all get or have had days like that, it's not nice, but, really, those days do become less frequent as you gain more experience in solving the various issues from time to time. You mention the 'awful burnt taste'. If it's not the atty being too dry, then it could be a bit of loose fibre from your cart filler attaching itself to the atty, and its burning as you activate your E-cig. To get rid of it, you need to first blow the atty out completely. Then rinse under hot water and leave to dry - about 30 minutes. Then, attach the atty back onto the riva without cart. Then, blow into the atty while activating Riva (careful you don't burn lips, can get hot). Do this for 10 seconds. Get your breath back, tehn repeat process again - (blow into atty/press button 10 secs). Then one more time, so 3 x 10 second bursts in total while blowing into the atty. Then, drip 3 drops of E-liquid onto the atty, pop on your cart and vape. I've done this on many occasions, and it's solved that nasty burnt taste.

There's been a slight change to warranty on atomiser multi packs bought at totally Wicked.
If you find any to be dead on arrival, you can return them, though it's got to be within 48 hours of receipt.
I've only ever had one atomiser to be D.O.A., its quite rare I think.
