Well it seems nobody else seems worried about it then Maybe not as lazy as you and I about making fused claptons. My last pair got to play in three atties before I binned them. I'm using triple twisted 0.3 SS now, and loving it - the lazy man's fused clapton...

Haven't used the Origenny or done a sleeper coil for a while (dual coils from a single piece of wire) I think this one is working ETA just not nearly as good flavour with cotton, at least I tried Makes me happy just looking at it. Use the 6mls with cotton like that, 4mls on mesh duty...

Nice one DaveJ I think I'll start with no flavour for him then because if that works it will be the cheapest way. He uses 16mg so it will probably taste like a good dirty ashtray anyway. As Perpetua says, if it works then it's good I've been experimenting with DIY tobacco extraction. As I tasted samples I was surprised how much flavour there was in just Nic, PG, VG - I could happily vape 9mg, 60/40

Tobaccos are the trickiest vape to get right. I've been looking for a good one since I started vaping. They are often too sweet. BestCigLiquid are great. I regularly vape Sultan, Cohibia, Londoner and Kenty. I found the ones designed to taste like roll ups had a vegetal/banana skin kind of flavour to them... I'd get a sense of what he likes first. Go and buy all the tobaccos from One Pound Liquid, I used American Lights for ages. Then come back to this thread when you know which direction you need to go in... [Edit] I should also add that OKSmokey liquids are remarkably realistic. Really dry/smokey/ashtray like. They really helped me in the beginning. There's a certain something about them that I'm still trying to capture in my DIYs - just ordered some Absolutes and DNB (dirty neutral base) to see if that's what it was... A lot of people will talk about Manabush/House of Liquid being the zenith of tobaccos - and Dripworx should probably be in there too - but those are very sweet almost bakery style tobaccos. So what percentage do you mix best at please? And which one would you say is the closest to a straight cig? I'm really lazy. They come in 12ml bottles. So I mix to 12%. Means I just dump the whole bottle in a 100ml bottle. Add nic, PG to taste, then top up to the neck with VG. Try Sultan and Cohibia - less sweet than the others, more tobacco to taste in there... One I found recently is Kreeds Baccy from Chefs flavours. Not a pure tobacco, has bourbon and a nut element, but really addictive! This was from a Facebook group called Vaping Home Mixers. Worth sniffing around there. There's a few discount codes too. John Smith's tobaccos get a few good mentions too

I agree that the 'Naturally Extracted Tobacco' is a mis-nomer....Natural Tobacco Extraction (or Your 'RET'), is more accurate. But it IS in common useage now so why complicate things? Look how long 'steeping' has been used in vaping circles inaccurately............. (....Anyway, back later; off to indulge in some 'well-steeped naturally extracted hops/malt/barley infusion'!!!! ) And that's probably 'dry hopped' - another inaccuracy...

Then call it RET - real extracted tobacco. What technique are you using?

I enjoy much of this forum but one thing that both irks and saddens me has been the discovery that so many wish to create a world of make believe. I have used the cold steeping method myself and enjoyed the results. I'm happy to hear about others trying this. But where does the 'naturally' in NET come from? PG and VG come from factories. they are manufactured, man made solvents. The real world is endlessly complicated and fascinating. Where does the need to create a fictional world come from? Why pretend the extraction is natural? It is just beyond me why people who otherwise seem pleasant, amusing, helpful and interesting find it necessary to create some parallel fantasy world where the wonders of chemistry have to be described as natural. I'm sorry for but those of us who are content to live in the real world and marvel its fascinating workings it can be painful learning that other people want to turn it into a mythical Narnia. It's a fair point, PG, VG aren't really natural - although natural is a very ill defined term. I didn't even clock the thread title. To me I'm using one of the ingredients in e-liquid as a solvent. Hardly a 'parallel fantasy world'

30% is what I use with My steeps. As You've found:- flavour is 'subtle' compared to concentrated flavourings.....& VG is very sweet! If You persevere with NETs; You'll prob. start reducing the amount of non-NET flavourings in Your other mixes...& cut the VG.....at least, that's what happened to Me! Yeah, I took the 30% figure from you. I think if push came to shove, I could probably just vape VG/PG and Nic. I've always struggled with the sweetness of commercial tobaccos. But also struggle with too much PG... Was it you who talked about vinegar?

Couldn't resist. Only ten days - but i just made up 5ml of my Auld Kendel steep experiment. Mixed it at 30% - really nice vape! Totally surprised me.
Flavour doesn't punch you in the face, and it's an interesting study in just how sweet VG is. It will be good if it ends up stronger.

I do feel some of these recipes are a little weak for my tastes but a good base idea to tweak to taste fa sure. As we say taste is all subjective You surprise me. I'm thinking of mixing Kreed's Baccy slightly weaker. Might just be that one though...and I am vaping it all day on a Genesis Atty...
