Thanks for the tip off Bee, i have a feeling i will be doing lots more shopping on there Beautycat your daughter will love it Your more than welcome I could hardly keep the secret to myself could I lol Ah yes that is the only drawback, shopping there becomes somewhat addictive and you find yourself going in other shops and thinking 'why would I pay that much when I can get it for a fiver!' haha

Mites can cause fur loss, keep an eye on them just to check they are not barbering each other or he's not barbering himself. If you can rule that out then the fur loss can either be an age related thing- a couple of mine are getting thinning fur now they're older, or it could be down to the mites. All rats have mites at low levels at all times and thats completely normal, they only really get a flare up if they're immune system is down and the mites get chance to multiply

Aww gj your boys are adorable! How big is the Pygmy hedgie Chris? Looks teeny! are they difficult to look after at all? I'd actually be really interested in having hedgies as pets at some point

Thankyou to everyone for your kind words I really appreciate it Jane- I have tried the finacard before but the bale I bought was before they improved it and it was very dusty the boys weren't that keen on it to be honest, they seem to prefer the slightly bigger cardboard squares of ecobed which is what they have now hehe mine love shredding tissues and toilet roll. I buy them packs of the really cheap supermarket toilet roll and give them one and they spend hours shredding it to make nests with

I use baby wipes on my face too mainly because I've always got a huge stash of them in to spot clean the rats cage and the rats when they manage to get food all over themselves lol
