Hi Found this forum thanks to the Ebay boards and further help from Sharron/Lettie? (thanks!) Just received my Titan from TECC and I'm chuffed to bits with it already. I smoked about twenty a day until I gave up in 2001, mum died of lung cancer (yes, she was a smoker) in 2007...obviously this should have been more than enough to keep me off the fags...but alas, I've been on around eight a day for the last year or so. Trouble is, I only ordered 11mg carts due to my not smoking that much, however I do (did) smoke high strength ciggies as I like a strong hit on the back of the throat. Would a higher strength cart be more likely to give me this...also, does the flavoured e-juice give the same hit? Thanks

Welcome Lindsay and congratulations on your new "hobby". Yes, higher strength carts do give a better throat hit and e-liquid is the best way to go longer term, works out much cheaper than carts, plus there are so many more flavours to choose from. It also gives a good throat hit in the stronger varieties. Probably you would need something a little stronger than 11mg - I'd suggest 18 or 24mg if you smoked strong cigs.

Hi Lindsay, Firstly welcome from me and huge congrats on taking the plunge It takes a lot to put us smokers off doesn't it? I smoked up to 40/50 a day until 5 months ago and haven't touched one since discovering these wonderful ecigs. Delighted you are pleased with your Titan, I'd go for an 18mg ejuice, it will give you a better hit, most of us in here refill the original carts with juice - it's by far the most economical way of vaping. James who is a lovely poster/supplier in here does 5ml bottles very reasonably so as you can experiment with flavours to see which ones you prefer. www.paradisevapeuk.com/As indeed does Lisa another lovely helpful poster/supplier - there's a link to her site in her sig.

Thanks for the quick replies! I washed out one of the zero mg carts and replaced it with some of the TW e-juice I ordered...five bottles all 11mg! I think an order from James is imminent, I have a few quid left in my bank account this month, earmarked for a new dress...but hey! who need clothes!

Eggzactly!! You'll be able to buy masses of dresses soon with the money you'll be saving. There's a swapsies board on the top of this forum lindsay ~ you might well be able to sell your 11mg's on ~ worth a try. I think we all made purchases that weren't quite right for us in the beginning but you learn as you go on.

Hello & welcome from me as well Lindsay So pleased to hear you like your Titan 510 As Perpy says, there is a Classified & swaps section on the Home page of the forum : - allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=classifiedAnother thought would be if you bought some much higher strength e-liquid of a similar flavour, you could then mix your 11mg with it?

Hallo Lindsay, good luck with your e cig. I had the 510s for my second lot of e cigs have now graduated on to the Tornado 510 batteries on the advice of some members here. They last longer and I think give a stronger throat hit. There is a 50% sale on the TECC site at the moment although you will need an adapter for your 510 charger, well worth the money. I only use 4/5 mg of liquid, started on 18/16mg in Jan.

Hi Lindsay. I too was very nervous about using my ecig, but once I got started I haven't looked back. It is advisable to keep using the forum as you may need to ask more questions. I've certainly had to for reassurance if nothing else. I tend to use 36mg strength on a morning, then reduce to 18mg as the day goes on. I find that this works for me. Also, as everyone has already said, TECC have a sale on, so it is advisable to buy more batteries & atomisers. James is a helpful & supportive seller of juice. He stocks a good range of strengths and flavours. He also stocks juice in 5ml size sample bottles which is a bonus. Although you maybe tempted to stick with "tobacco" flavours, don't be put off by the fruity ones or the different drink flavoured ones. I've actually come to prefer the fruity ones, I do still buy tobacco flavoured ones aswell of course. Good luck & hope you manage to have vaping success

Thanks for all the info. I'm vaping the chocolate flavour as we speak...lovely, more like chocolate liqueur than actual chocolate. Couple more questions if you don't mind. When refilling the carts do I need to wash them out, or is it okay to refill with a new flavour (as long as I don't mind the mix?) Also, when I re-charge the battery will it go flat if not in use? Oh, and one more, when direct dripping does the cart have to be completely empty? Thanks again!

No need to wash out the carts as long as you don't mind the mix.
A charged battery will very slowly lose some charge if not in use. but it would take weeks if not months to go completely flat.
It's up to you, you can just direct drip with an empty cart or you can use a combination of both, as long as you don't flood the atomiser with too much juice.

Hi there Lindsay! I think everything's been said that needs to be said - especially how pleased we are to see you here. My mother came up from Cornwall to stay with me in London when she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1985 - she died in 1986. She said to me "I don't know how you can carry on smoking, seeing what's happened to me" - but nothing would stop me until I found e-cigs in late 2008 scylla

Better late than never eh? (I bet that phrase has been used rather a lot on this forum?) Okay, next question...I'm already going through batteries like you wouldn't believe, so, I thought I'd take advantage of the TECC sale and go for the Tornado. Do I need to buy the entire kit again? what is the bare minimum I can get away with?(I have the Titan kit with two batteries/atties etc)
