This is my experience within the past 5 minutes: Vaping Garry Dibley no-inline-battery passthru. Topped up cart, vaped with eBay 7-port USB hub, swapped to e-cigs.co.uk (Simon) white plug/USB adapter and back again a couple of times. There is almost no difference in the quality of the vape. I could say that there is actually NO difference ??? The white adapter is no longer available, been replaced by the one I pointed to above. Might it be worth writing or phoning Simon to ask about any difference between the two adapters? I've got up my original order from Simon's site but it only says "white USB adapter", there are no details re mAh etc. scylla Scylla, just out of interest. Is the USB hub you bought off eBay exactly the same as mine, a 3amp one? The model number on the back will end in 3A if it is

Yes - U7PH-3A. Funnily enough, I've always wondered if the white adapter was extra strong or the USB hub a little below par. scylla

It's not all about whether a device will provide and continuous and full output to whatever atomiser you are using, it's also about the safety of it. An atomiser requires a certain current and will attempt to pull it, in some cases, even if the plug/USB port isn't capable of providing it. Additionally, as I've said, atomisers vary in the current they require with the original Joye510 and LR atties requiring more.
Some USB ports on computers will just fail to power a device that draws too much current, but in some cases, it will blow the USB port and can blow the entire motherboard.
Transfer this scenario of over-current draw to a USB plug designed for charging batteries, many of which are not marked with their capacity or are incorrectly marked and sometimes overstated, again, it may just not work, or alternatively it could work and could cause itself or anything else connected to blow.
So, yes, stuff may work, but - it's not recommended, you could damage your vaping equipment or your PC, or possibly, your home wiring.

Thanks, Lisa and Chrissie Fortunately I always do use the hub, the adapter is redundant plugged into a surge protector But it never occurred to me that the adapter could be used for charging but not for vaping, I'm embarrassed to say. When I bought PureSmoker's passthru the button stuck and it blew the USB socket in my expensive high-def laptop - fortunately it fused and only the one socket was injured. So {{{Hanow}}} SAFETY FIRST! scylla

That's why I haven't listed my adapters you see, because even if I say it's just for charging, people will use them for vaping and I can't be sure exactly what could happen. I don't want to scare anyone, but it's aways best to try and be safe.
