You are all so helpful that I'm going to pick your brains again. As I only have one e-cig (the screwdriver) I thought I should get a back-up and decided to get another manuel one to try - maybe somthing a bit more dainty to take out (not the GG. I would love to have one but its outside my price range at the moment) So, from your vast experience what would you recommend? I would be so pleased if you could tell me which you have had success with. Many thanks, Liz Hi Liz, I only at this time have experience of the 510 which I bought from Cloud 9. If you want small elegant this fits the bill in as much as its as cigarette size as you can get. You can get in different colors, I have3 black and 5 white. It is the most popular e cig I think because of its size plus it has been around a long time so is well tried and tested. I think the Riva is a more updated version but have no knowledge of it. All I can say about the 510 is that to me anyway it is reliable and I have no wish, unlike some here to build a collection or get bigger and better as for me it does the job. Still a relative newbie though so I could change my mind. Hope this helps. Ken.

I can quite understand that having a collection of good performing 510s could be quite satisfying If I were in Liz's position, and sorta knowing what I know now, I'd plump for the TECC Tornado at that price!Garry Dibley's passthru with the USB hub gives a good, reliable vape, and it works quite well plugged directly into a PC/laptop as well. scylla

Many thanks for all your advice. I've ordered a Tornado and a pass-through so now I'm all set. I will probably pop up again. I'm sure that I have lots more to learn. Liz

Ok Peeps, passthroughs:
Briefly - you need to make sure you're using them on a USB port with more than enough power to run the atomiser otherwise you will blow your motherboard.
Under no circumstances use one of those little USB plugs for passthroughs, they are designed for charging batteries only.
Chrissie recommended a powered USB hub - this is what you need specifically if you are using a Joye branded 510 or a low res atomiser of any kind or you need a plug that has an absolute minimum of 1000mA (1A) and if you wish to use a Low res atomiser you should be looking for 2000mA (2A).
You should be ok with a standard DSE901 or SLB510 atomiser on a standard passthrough on a PCs USB port depending on the available power to that port.

Just to add my penny worth - I received my USB passthrough from TECC. Wow - how good is that? Ingenious little device, and at £6.50 - well worth it. However, from reading the above, will be interesting to see how long it lasts - watch this space.

Hi,
I knew I'd be back for more advice before long!
This time I'm wanting to know about atomisers.
I've been looking on Lisa's site and I see LV, HV and VHV.
Which would be best to go in my Gary Dibley Pass-through. I wondering which is best for flavour. Or, can you recommend any other atties which last well and produce good flavour. I seem to remember reading somewhere that "standard" atties were best for flavour. I'll be needing them for my PT and SD.
I so appreciate your help. It's a bit of a jungle out there - there is too much choice for my simple mind!
Many thanks, Liz

Liz, if you are using the GD passthrough with a high powered USB hub, then you only need a standard attie to get a good 5v vape from it. The LV (also known as LR) atties draw a lot more power from their power source & if using via the high powered hub, the attie will soon blow. But even worse, if using via a lappy /PC hub, it could end up blowing your motherboard. On the other hand, with your SD a LR attie will turn the use of the 3.7v batteries it uses into the equivelant of 5v - the sweet spot for vaping in so many peoples opinions If none of the above makes sense, just shout & I or others will try to explain it more

Liz, For what it's worth, the attie that I sent with the SD was a LR one. Don't know if I told you that already.. Lynda

I concur with Chrissie. It's like this with atties (my ones anyway):
LV - 3.4V-3.7V Standard - 3.7V-5V HV - 5V-6V VHV - 6V-7.4V
