Hello junctionalfunkie, I, too, am on my third day now.... Haven't smoked since Tuesday lunchtime. And, I'm now using zero nicotine cartridges. Haven't used any nicotine at all since Wednesday afternoon. I feel fine - I'm going to start a diary listing my progress and any physical effects I notice. I've already noticed that I can walk much farther without pain or breathlessness. Hubby says I've stopped snoring, too......

Hi Chi.... *Knows you from t'other place) Actually, it was one of your comments on the FHG thread that made me click the links and eventually go and buy one, I remember when you 1st started with it and never thought you'd quit proper smoking. I agree about the smell og real cigs, it's already starting to disgust me, and I still go outside to e-smoke lmao! Nana, if it helps with snoring i'm deffo getting the OH one, though I may have to look around for a decent alcohol free beer, because i'm pretty sure that's what makes him resemble the sound of a farmers tractor

Oh wow Nana, you are doing fantastically - well done you Chi, I just checked your profile & there isn't a sig there. You need to click on the "modify profile" button at the bottom of the page to save changes. Junctional, you are not alone. I think the fact that Chi has done so well on the e-cig even though she was so sure it couldn't work for her, has ended up encouraging so many others to give it a try

Nana I totally missed your post because it's at the top of a new page and, as so often on this particular forum, I replied from the previous page not realising there was No2 I can't believe how well you're doing, you are an example to us all! I'm worried now, you'll soon pack up altogether and we could lose you :-[ scylla

Scylla, I'm always doing that - missing that the posts have gone onto another page.
Am also hoping we don't loose Nana.

Thank you Chrissie, I don't really understand what's going on with this - I'd have thought that as a reasonably heavy smoker for 40-odd years, I'd be well and truly addicted to nicotine. But it would seem not to be so.... On Tuesday, I started using the ecig with a low cartridge because it was afternoon and I'd already had a few roll-ups so was scared of o.d'ing the nicotine (I'm married to a chemist, who has made me aware of the dangers of all drugs - he won't even take a paracetamol). That evening I changed to a zero cartridge for the remainder of the day. Next morning, Wednesday, I started with a low cartridge, which I changed to a zero cartridge at lunchtime, and I've stayed on the zero ever since then. So I'm quite puzzled really as to how easy it's been (so far) to give up the nicotine. I keep expecting to backslide and go back to the roll-ups...

Scylla and Chrissie, I sincerely hope that I do pack up alltogether; but I promise that I will try not to leave here - this forum is part of what's keeping me tobacco free.

Nana, I've no idea if what I'm going to say is total nonsense - but it's just a thought. Maybe because your body(or brain) has adjusted to you no longer hitting it with the 4000 chemicals in real cigs, it's also decided you don't need the nicotine either Nana, even if you do give up altogether it would be fantastic if you stayed with us so you could let others know about your wonderful sucess. Plus of course, anyone can come & chat about any off topic subjects

Crikey - low carts and zero carts after only a few days - that really is WOW!!!
I have not been able to reduce at all from the extra high 36mg Totally Wicked E-Liquid, and I think I vape much more now than when I first started - the ecig is never out of my hand. I have about 6 battery chargers - usually about 6 or 7 assembled e-cigs laying around, all ready to puff.
I did try some medium carts a fair while back, but it was like puffing on fresh air - no throat kick at all.
What the heck though - I don't smoke!!! (HA!)

Chrissie, you may well be right. Maybe, just maybe, state of mind has something to do with it too. I'd decided this was going to be make or break, and am determined to get off the weed.
Chihuahua, (Hmmm, recognise that name from ebay) Yes, at first it was like puffing fresh air; now, it's more like puffing silk cut......
But, I decided that as I want to stop smoking, it really doesn't matter whether or not I enjoy it - so long as it keeps me off the cigs. And, so far, it does.... It's the draw, the deep inhalation, that I loved about smoking, and these ecigs give me that.

You're so right about the 'sight and feeling' element of the e-cig, it's that I need most of all I think. Have you ever tried smoking a cigarette (or vaping of course) in the pitch dark? It's quite surprising how little satisfaction there is in doing that compared to being able to see the vapour. Fox
