Can I just point out how jealous I am of those who live in Cornwall...my ultimate dream would be to live in a fishermans cottage, by the harbour in Padstow or St Ives...until I win the lottery I'll have to make do with a weeks holiday once year. Lindsay, in reality not sure if that dream would become a nightmare. Don't get me wrong, St. Ives & Padstow are beautiful but the touristy parts of Cornwall IMHO aren't the best parts to be. The quieter backwater small towns & villages are not only cheaper to buy in but so much more peaceful. Perpy, it's so cold here as well (just started a thread about it). Bet it's a lot warmer in Crete .... Kenny can we all move in with you please?

Lol, yeah, I'm sure you're right...it would be hell in high season and it wouldn't take long to feel totally ripped off. Nice idea though, I do love Cornwall, it's so beautiful.

Lol don't worry Lindsay - it sometimes doesn't work for me either A neighbour of mine used to live in Fowey (just 5 miles away). he said that often in high season he had uninvited tourists dropping in - literally! The road in front of his cottage was so narrow he would often open his front door & someone trying to avoid the cars passing through would fall into his cottage

I know, I desperately need a new prescription but I can't bear to spend money on essentials when I could be frittering it on luxuries Going have to crack soon though, it's getting that bad. £200 MINIMUM, just for replacement lenses scylla
