The software on the forum is set up to automatically edit any of the really bad/offensive swear words. Perp I really wish you hadn't said that, now the child in me really wants to test that out  Go on then, I dare you Ellen.  |

oh and thanks also Storm - I do tend to adapt well to new atmospheres and felt this was a place the odd one or two wouldn't harm but wanted to double check it wasnt a zero tolerance thingy!

Perpy is almost right, but it's not the forum software that automatically edits any of the really bad/offensive swear words, just the few I have added to the censored word list. Anyone posting those censored words will just see a few ***** instead of the word they typed |

We had someone on our car site that use to use the word awesome nearly every other word in a post,so we added it to the swear word list just to annoy him |

i like the freedom to swear if i like, but at the same time, i do think there's something really fun about trying not to swear. i went through a phase recently of saying c*ck! if i dropped something, but i've since changed it to cockadoodle-doo, or sometimes just 'bum!'
it helps that i work in an old people's home.
flippin' is my fave non-swear. and fudge or fiddlesticks or blimey or crikey or christ on a bike. fun for the family.
