I normally vape 8mg as anything much higher gives me a headache, but I bought 3 bottles of 12mg from a vendor as that was the lowest they stocked. Within 10 minutes of vaping one of them, I had a headache. I added a few mls of PG and and a bit of VG to weaken it after pouring it into a bigger empty bottle, which also weakened the flavour, poured what was left in the tank back in the bottle, gave the bottle a good shake, refilled the tank, vaped it for a few minutes and my headache went. Is 4mg of nicotine really that strong, anyone know? Thanks.

I would have thought that 4mg was very weak But I do believe that we are all individual and react in different ways to different strengths/mixes! If by diluting the nic content Anne you're losing flavour, would it be worth buying some bottles of flavours to top up with?

I think the effect of nicotine is a very individual thing.. Maybe your body is unable to assimilate higher levels of nicotine so I would listen to what my body is telling me.. If there is a juice you like only available in a higher strength, I would buy some 0 mg of the same flavour and mix the two to achieve desired strength..No loss of flavour that way..

Nicotine causes blood vessels to constrict, more so in some people than others. This can lead to raised blood pressure, and cause headaches in those particularly sensitive. They are called vascular headaches I would advise that you have your blood pressure checked by your GP, and to continue to use low strength e liquid. Caffeine also has the same vascular constriction effect. Interestingly though, nicotine and caffeine are also sometimes used to treat headaches, as headaches can also be caused by blood vessels expanding too much, so nicotine/caffeine are sometimes prescribed to constrict the vessels, and get rid of a headache. Obviously there is a fine balance and it will be very individual and dependant on how your own body is working at any given time. Anyone who has ever gone cold turkey from coffee probably has experienced the horrible headaches that occur for some days as the blood vessels dilate. Yet similarly when blood vessels constrict and get too narrow, headaches can also be caused. Wishing u well

All informative and useful answers, thank you. I was thinking of doing that Karma, next time I make a 'slow boat' order from HC. Colin, thanks for the offer, but I have a huge bottle of pharma grade PG . Good idea macca, why didn't I think of that? Lol. I've read that too gaura, nicotine has been used to help reduce migraine pain, but as you say, we're all different and what works for one won't work for another. I used to drink a lot of coke and if I woke up with a headache, a glass of coke would get rid of it, really strange, but I went off all carbonated drinks when my Dr. put me on Topamax for migraine prevention, which again, works for some and not others. I do have my blood pressure checked routinely as I take warfarin and it's always spot on.

I can't go higher than 8mg either. I'm so used to the throat hit on 8mg that anything higher is too strong on my throat as well. I really rarely buy premade juices anymore but I'm always prepared to dilute it with some vg then add some flavour to it with my wide selection of flavours I get the shakes and a really bad congested feeling with a pounding headache if I overdo the nic, 8mg seems to be my level. I've used 12mg before and it hit me so fast compared to the 8mg I was used to. Kinda weird but that's what my body does with even a slightly higher nic level.

Glad I'm not alone leftfield. I was beginning to think I was the only one who uses such a low nic. strength. Where do you buy your flavourings?

You know, I didn't even think of diluting my juice d'oh - I've got a bunch of samplers at 20mg which are too strong for me to vape for long without headaches/dizziness; I prefer my 10mg.. I must have a go at this, I might even prefer some flavours if they are not quite so.. um... intense?! Nick

Your not alone Anne, I use zero nic. & inhale very little, when I smoked my pipe & cigars I never inhaled so now I just enjoy all the different flavours & the more vapour the better.
