Hi all,
I've just got an XTAR WP2II charger and it has 2 options for charging, 500mah and 1000mah.
I can't see why you'd ever use the 500mah, given the choice, unless there is some benefit i am not aware of in 'slow cooking' your batteries.
Can anyone advise me?
Cheers

I use the 500 mAh option. i'm sure someone told me when I first bought it that it is better for the batteries to be charged slowly!
Hopefully someone more knowledgable about these matters can confirm this?

Someone once told me something like charging a battery too fast kills a certain amount of good stuff within the battery (like battery cells or something.)
Once those cells are killed they can never be used again. Slow cooking kills fewer cells. I'm sure someone could correct me, but that's my understanding.

This sounds sensible, and i think i have read similar things, but it could just be an urban myth. I reckon someone on here must know for sure, we must have some elastictrickery experts
