Mods ahoy!

Well, I'm quite excited at the moment, as I have now had confirmation that I will shortly be the owner of a dual 18650 'TTS' vv mod (by Styl3r), as well as a dual 18650 vv mod by Throathit.

Just had to share that with someone. Gf tried her best to look impressed, but clearly had minimal interest.

(With apologies to those of you (eg Perpy) who have previously tried to convince me to go down the shiny Provari path. )

Yes it is, jayjay. In fact, River owns both of these mods. I'm not sure if he brought the TTS to VF though. It was the Throathit he had in the evening at the pub.

[EDIT: I'm talking rubbish - he did have both - I remember now that he got the TTS out to show me and compare the two]

What's the difference between the two mods? Had a look on UKV threads and all the only difference my newbie eye could see was the price

Tee hee. This is why it's good to not allow post deletions on the forum. We can always drag stuff up from the past! Great fun!

I think the main difference between the mods (apart from price and size, with the TTS being a bit smaller in both of those categories) is that the Throathit has more techy / safety stuff built in (not that I fully understand all the details, but for example, it comes as a sealed unit with batteries already fitted into a protected cell-holder inside). It also comes with its own charger and a pre-fitted 510 to 510 adaptor (to limit wear on the main 510 connector on the body of the unit). It's also built like a tank, by all accounts. (Not that the TTS is flimsy or anything, but the Throathit is specifically designed to be ultra-robust).

I forgot to mention the most important difference:

One looks like a walkie talkie, while the other looks like a detonation device, so by owning both, I'll be free to create a variety of different public security alert scenarios, depending on my mood.
