I started vaping in January. And Daz @ Safercigs was/is, vendor of the year.
OK. I've no problem with that. But was wondering how that came about.
Do we, the vapers vote for our personal favourite in a poll?
If so. When and where is voting conducted?
Would it be OK for us @ aaec to conduct our own survey for best vendor/website/juice maker etc.

Brian, the vendor of the year & other polls were conducted on UKvapers.com.
We have talked about holding similar polls in here, but I think it can lead to bad feeling.

I was the instigator of the 'UKV Awards' Brian. They started not long after it was set up in 2009 and ran for 3 years. The categories were decided and then nominations were given and finally a vote. I thought it worked really well as a tool to help the vaping community and encourage participation. With the demise of UKV.com, I see no reason why a similar idea couldn't be carried forward on AAE-C Chrissie I certainly do not mind and I'm almost certain that Jackie wouldn't either. Russell

I was of the impression that it was a poll conducted over several forums. If the general consensus is that it could cause bad feelings among vendors, then i fully understand why Chrissie does`nt conduct a poll... Would have been fun though, with so many new vendors having come onto the market recently. I bet Blakey could have used a bit of bribery for a pen to make his (X) in the box.

When UKV was first set up, I thought that having this type of an event could be an annual recognition of the achievements in vapeland and that the event would grow year by year until it became a significant one. It is a bit of fun but with a deeper significance in the way that it is yet another 'established' event that should increase the acceptance of ecigs and vaping in the wider community. I think Chrissie was referring to possible problems with the other forums, not between vendors - I do not see it as being a problem as the format could be used anywhere and UKV.com does not exist anymore. There were quite a few categories last year and here were the winners/runners up; Vaper of 2011 Winner : igetcha69 Runner up : rawveg Campaigner of 2011 Winner : Rusty (CAM-VIP) Runner up : VTTV Promotor of 2011 Winner : Wayne (VapeFest) Runner up : Rusty (CAM-VIP) Reviewer of 2011 Winner : igetcha69 Runner up : Romastino Vendor of 2011 Winner : Safecigs Runner up : VapeEscape Forum Contributor 2011 Winner : Digicig Runner up : prof beard New Vaper of 2011 Winner : rawveg Runner up : easystreet Modder of 2011 Winner : Garry Dibley Runner up : Clockworks Outstanding Achievement of 2011 Winner : Wayne for VapeFest 2011 Runner up : Stopping Smoking Best Product of 2011 Winner : Lavatube Runner up : Tanks Best 'Mod' of 2011 Winner : Provari Runner up : Throathit's VV Dual 18650 Best Atomiser/Cartomiser of 2011 Winner : BOGE 510s Runner up : Dual Coil Cartomisers Turkey of 2011 Winner : CE3 Smokymiser Runner up : Buds Best Eliquid Range of 2011 Winner : Dekang Runner up : Grizwald's Gourmet Vapours New Product of 2011 Winner : Lavatube Runner up : Provari

Thinking about it, perhaps ECCA could take up the mantle this year? Then it would be a cross-forum celebration and vote

Thanks for the list of winners/losers. I thought it was just a competition for "vendor of the year". Seriously did`nt think there were so many categories. Chrissie. Can you confirm that "I think Chrissie was referring to possible problems with the other forums, not between vendors - I do not see it as being a problem as the format could be used anywhere and UKV.com does not exist anymore". Is what you meant, or that you feel it could cause bad feelings among vendors, which is what i thought you meant. After all, It would be nice to show our recognition to our great vendors, and help them improve their customer relations..... websites.... prices.... discount codes.... delivery costs.... the list is endless

This is just my personal thought only . . . I'm not in favour of these sorts of things as they can be divisive and cause bad feeling.
All the Vendors I've personally dealt with, have set out to give me outstanding service, be they a large or small Vendor.
Had they not lived up to my expectations, I would have taken my issues up with them directly.
We have a Vendor Feedback Sub Forum, which can be used for good and bad feedback alike . . . plus a Kudos thread on the Vendor's Board.
Personally, I think that's sufficient and have yet to be convinced otherwise.
