Sorry Chrissie-et-al, but I lost my picture when I attempted to change it. Am I correct in trying to copy and paste the Htmplty-one (whatever it is - third one down in the PB list)? :-[ :-[

A numpty question here from me on the sizing of an avatar piccie, what size is best to use for that slightly larger avatar and is it best to do the re-sizing in your photo editing facility rather than Photobucket?

Not a numpty question, I don't know - I reckon trial and error as long as you don't lose your original pic. I'd like Sammy to be as big as poss!!! scylla

Perps - mine has come out small as well. I resized it in PB to be less than 100-wotsits, as that is what I think Chrissie recommended somewhere. But I must have misunderstood, as others do have theirs bigger. I'll just stay here on the dopey step 'til some clever person comes along and tells me what to do with my wotsits.

Lol Scylla! Sammy is trying to oblige, he's turned into a munching machine recently. Last/first time I had a stab at doing my avatar picce Hanow, our Chris re-sized it for me so it did come out that big bigger. I wouldn't mind a change of piccie but daren't muss wiv what I've got until I find out this sizing business. We'll wait for a wotsit lesson I think!

To get the largest size avatar possible, it's best to choose a square pic or crop a rectangular one if possible to make it more square. Have a look on your profiles to see what size it's set at. For instance, Hanow's was set at only 65x65, so I've just changed it to 100x100 If you try & set an rectangular one to 100x100 (like Perpy's) it will just throw it out of proportion.

Aaaah, that's better Chris, we can see more of the gorgeous Teddy now. I may have a go, if I'm feeling strong a bit later at putting a new pic on.

Perpy, or anyone else, I'm more than happy to crop/adjust any pics you want to use. Just post them on this thread -either via a host such as photobucket or an attachment from your pics on your PC. Or if anyone wants me to find a pic for them to use as an avatar - just give me an idea what you are looking for. I'm more than happy to host pics for you & then add them to your profiles if anyone is struggling

Thank you Chris. I wonder if, when you have time - that I could have this more seasonal piccie of Sammy in his youf.

Perpy, which crop do you prefer? This one? Or this one?
