for what its worth i have just found out that Dealextreme a large and popular HK (Chinese) seller of gadgets and gizmos have for the last few weeks been experiencing huge delays as regards getting stuff shipped out.. they are say "weeks" basically there are not enough airplanes available to carry all the stuff we buy from them..
so just be warned if ordering stuff from China.. there might be a long wait.. i knew something was going wrong.. apparently it comes down to not enough airplanes to carry all the stuff we now buy from china over the holiday period.. stuff started to pile up way back in early October and its still piled up..

I hope you don't mind skeandhu, but I've moved your post and started a new thread on this, so as it doesn't get 'lost' in the TW one . . . . funnily enough I was going to start a thread myself on the very subject. I know a couple of us are waiting for orders from DX . . . . placed mine on the 17th October for some batteries and there's absolutely no sign of it . . . so have started a PP dispute before the 45 days runs out.

Good work Perpy! I've got batteries overdue and have muttered about it somewhere here but it's more attention getting to have a dedicated thread. scylla

Thanks both, had a bit of a internal consternation about moving Skeandu's post, hope he understands why.
I'd keep an eye on your PayPal deadlines for claiming Scylla, it's not something I like doing to any seller for matters beyond their control, but pennies are pennies.

I have received mail from my suppler coz of alot of sports goods getting exported out of the country and the chance of shipments being stopped they will be splitting all larger orders and I have to expect longer delivery times James

I have found the service from DX getting worse and worse over recent months and I have had to stop dealing with them altogether. I had several orders outstanding with them for months and when I eventually got my refunds, I lost over £150 in the exchange rate difference that occured between the original payment and the refund.
There have been some other issues getting things out of China recently, but I think it's entirely unrelated to the DX issues which have mainly been caused by DX selling items that are out of stock and not admitting it until they are pushed to.

Yes, Lisa. I've been used to waiting a week or two before DX despatch because they didn't have stock when they took one's dosh We didn't need more problems on top scylla
