Is there a particular reason why an e liquid of the same type from the same supplier can taste so different I'm really into tobacco flavours (still) and had a little 5ml of some e liquid and it was great. Ordered a bigger 30ml of exactly the same from same supplier and it's so totally different ??? Also, where do you keep the liquid?? Should it be in a fridge door?? A dark cupboard?? It you let it steep does this mean leaving the lid off the bottle?? Any advice/help greatly appreciated. I'm still a novice really. Thanks

It could be your taste buds changing? It does happen aslo liquid can taste different in different delivery systems and at different volts! I don't steep e-liquid with the lid off as I can't figure out a safe enough place to do this I do try to leave liquid at least a week before I use it. I store my liquid in an insulated lunch box. On the odd occasion this year where it has been really warm I've popped in one of those blue cooler thingies that you freeze first! In a cool dark place liquid should keep for at least 2 years. If you think you may be storing it for longer you can pop it in the freezer

Thanks You will find that the 5ml testers are a stock item that could be a few weeks old and has had time to steep in the bottle. Whereas the 30ml bottle you bought, especially if from vapeescape, is made to order, so could need anything up to a month to reach full potential. Although 3-4 days would probably be fine. I normally leave the cap off with new juices and keep it in top of wardrobe for 2-3 days, then top back on until i need it. I am ahead on juice by about 200mls so mine is steeped ready always to use.

Thanks Karma. I know that my taste buds have changed but not enough to warrant the difference in taste for this e liquid I don't think - only eating my children's sweets which now taste quite sharp!! I've only ever vaped with an egoC 1100 and have used the CE2 (I think) = the one with the short wick or else the CE5. I keep all of mine in the fridge door and they've always tasted fine - including the "different" tasting one above. Silly me for trying to save a bit of well needed money and buying a larger amount of liquid. thanks for the reply, greatly appreciated

It may be taste buds, it may be steeping time, I'm not an expert enough to advise on that, but I know that identical liquid can taste different, maybe mixed to order stuff can't be made absolutely identical every time.....
One thing I don't understand though is this lid on/off for steeping idea. Wouldn't allowing oxygen to mix with juice cause the flavour to diminish?

Thanks brianfletch. Just checked and the liquids were ordered about 6wks apart. Have tried the bigger quantity only this evening hoping it would be better after receiving it a month ago - but it's not!! Will have a ponder about it. I came close to stopping vaping as all the liquid I had was yuk, but managed to get some I'd tried, loved and tastes the same so still vaping strongly. Might end up swapping it as I've got a few more I'm not keen on too. Thanks

I don't understand the lids on/off either for the same reason. I've read on here that people receive their order and vape straight away so that's not steeped surely? Each to our own eh? As long as I like the taste I don't mind if it's been steeped or not. If it tastes nice vape it

Please don't stop vaping well stop if you like but don't go back to the ciggies we all have bad vaping days and have times where we think we've found 'the' liquid only to think 'yuk' ! swapping is a great idea! Good way to change your liquids to try something else Tobacco liquids are difficult as none taste exactly like tobacco! Experiment a bit and you may find something that totally hits the spot

Ive stuck to same flavours for pretty much 6 months now, ( I mix my own generally ) so can`t really compare with you peeps who try many different flavours. However, I do still buy 2 off Jason when he has them on special occasionally. I do leave them for 2-3 weeks, shaking every so often, so they are done and dusted for when i want to spoil myself. Remember though. If you do try different juices, that you are not contaminating the tastes by using same clearo/carto with different flavours. I know its obvious, but sometimes things do have to be spelt out in big LETTERS!!!!None intended!!

Good point Brian also about giving your liquids a good shake before using as the contents can settle

Ah I didn't know about shaking the contents, but I do ensure I have a clean clearomiser when I use a new flavour. Oh well, don't think the shaking will make much difference so will do a swap - get it sorted out later this week or at weekend. If anybody's got some tobacco flavour liquids they're not keen on KEEP HOLD OF THEM FOR THE MO and maybe we can get a swap done

Who did you get the juices from? If they are hangsen or dekang then they are probably made in 500 gallon batches at a time. Whereas the likes of Grizwald, Pixiejuice, and others i cant think of are more a made to order line, with all the different strengths etc to think of.

Agree with fletch......for me personally i think the secret to a good vape is a good juice like fletch states some of the run of the mill juices are made in huge quantities and shipped all over the world. The likes of Grizwalds and pixies are made to order so each bottle is bang on everytime. Like most things, you get what you pay for so paying that little bit extra IMO makes all the difference

The nicotine base used can also affect flavours, some do carry a slight undertone to them, whereas others are completely tasteless, I'd imagine that there are margins of difference to factor in there as well.

Thats a good point actually Mandy.
I suppose that occasionally a juice maker might run out of a flavouring, usual nic base, PG,VG, Sweetener or whatever they use in a normal recipe. So switch to a similar brand in the hope that they can swing it.
I did read that Pixie had to stop shipping out one particular juice, because she had run out of a flavouring and was waiting on new stock to arrive from USA, or wherever.
