Lol, I'll change the title of the thread when I can think of a better one The main advantages between mods & generic cig shaped e-cigs, is that the batteries last much longer & are a lot cheaper to buy. I'll start off by showing pics of the 2 mods that I have (though of course the SD is now mainly classified as commercial as it is being mass produced). I bought the Screwdriver (SD) from Trog a year ago. It is a 3.7v battery holder only. So the amount of vape & throat hit is similar to a generic e-cig. Although a new freshly charged battery can give you up to 4.2v. The SD is available from Trog @ www.cavecom.com/screwdriver/shop/shopindex.htm & the MK!! version from Totally Wicked www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/electronic-cigarette-screwdriver-products.htmlMy SD MK1 next to a DSE901 I then bought a GG Grant last June. It takes either 1 14500 battery for 3.7v vaping or 2 3v CR2's for 6v vaping. The other main difference between it & the SD is fully mechanical - ie no wires or solder. Lol, I was going to crop Isaac's paws out of the picture but thought they would make you all smile, so left them in There are other models of GG available & when in stock, can be bought from Lisa @ www.cloud9vaping.co.uk/epages/yxve46fvrnud.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/yxve46fvrnud/Categories/GG

The GG Transformer & the GG Slim. The Transformer can be used with several different batteries to give 3.7v, 6v or even 7.4v (latter only recommended with High Voltage atomisers.) Sections can be unscrewed to make it shorter depending on which battery/ies you are using. The Slim very slim & takes one 3.7v battery that is similar in size to an AAA.

Marian, he was being nosey & reaching up to the window ledge to see what I was photographing I'm trying to find photos of other mods but a lot of the photos are copyrighted, so if anyone can help out, I'd be grateful. Video of the Silver Bullet. The Silver Bullet (when in stock) is available in the UK from ivapour. www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/silver-bullet.html

A small point Chrissie - the "big battery" 3.7v devices will give 4.2v for MOST of the battery charge. They drop down towards 3.7v and below only towards thhe end of the charge. That's why such devices deliver a much better vaping experience than standard 3.7v e-cigs, whose batteries deliver 4.2v when absolutely freshly charged and then drop quite rapidly.

Thanks Prof Lol, I've learnt quite a lot about batteries over the last year since buying my first e-cig mod. For instance, I never used to have a clue what the mAh rating meant. But I do know I have still got a lot more to learn Scylla, I believe Imeo is working with a Greek friend to try & produce some new power sources of higher voltages for the GG's.

Some of my original Spiderfire batteries for my Mk 1 SD are on their way now. With my Mk2 I'm using 1200mah Ultrafire batteries in preference to the 900mah batteries it is supplied with I have a lot - royal blue ones and pale mauve ones with no branding; pale mauve ones Spiderfire 880mah; black GTL 1200mah - which I was not impressed with from the start > It's about time I got some new ones, shall I get the Spiderfires from Deal Extreme or is there a UK supplier? Thanks for any advice. scylla

Sorry if I'm taking the thread off topic but I don't feel I should start a new one :-[
I'm sure I saw the Spiderfire @ 2000+ mAh on DealExtreme recently but now I can only find 880. Did I imagine it or are they out of stock?

It's not off topic at all Scylla I've never come across any 16340's with a 2000 mah rating. Though I haven't looked for them lately as it's months since I used my SD.

Spiderfire batteries come in different sizes the SD Mk1 size are 880mah - there are bigger sizes at higher mah, but they won't fit...

Thanks Chrissie for showing the picture of the GG in one piece. Some very interesting info on batteries etc., in this thread - I don't have a clue about the put-together-oneself types nor the batteries required but I shall learn soon enough no doubt. Fox
