Hi,
This is all very new to me but I am willing to learn fast!
I took the plunge at the weekend and ordered a SkyCig which arrived today.
It's all charged up, put together and I'm ready to go!
I have had a little practice using the cherry cartridge and fingers crossed this is the way forward for me.
One thing I do find strange though is knowing when to stop smoking it! This happens naturally with normal nasty cigs as when it's gone, it's gone but I'm finding it hard with the e-cig! I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
I have plenty of spare cartridges to keep me going for a while but can anyone tell me if other brands will fit they SkyCig as their flavours are quite limited?
Looking forward to reading all you posts and leaving the smelly nasty fags behind.

Hi Gillian and welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of vaping. I know exactly what you mean about when to stop... I remember when I was a newbie starting a thread called 'just one more puff' on exactly the same topic. You'll find your own pace very quickly though.
As to the cartridges, this is where Skycig and others get you financially hooked, their refills are well overpriced. The trick is to keep your empty cartridges and refil them from bottles of e-juice which can be bought from vendors and come in hundreds of yummy flavours

Hello & welcome Gillian Don't worry about not knowing when to stop "smoking" it for now, your body will tell you when you have had enough nicotine from it. The skycig replacement cartomisers are very expensive, but you can refill them with e-liquid from any of the vendors on our list of vendors. Plus the skycig is compatible with with 510 cartomisers that you can buy at far better prices from the same vendors - allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newmembers&thread=1148&page=1#23191

Thanks for your warm welcomes, this is such a friendly forum (unlike many on this interweb thing!)
I'll have a look at the cartridges/juice links that you have posted, I must admit to fancying the pre-filled ones just for ease rather than re-filling but who knows, I might change my mind further down the line.
I have just been and washed out our (hubby and I) ashtrays and put them away in a cupboard as we aren't quite ready to throw everything out (yet!) but I'm hoping it won't be too long before I have a clear out of everything smoke related.
And, yes Karma, I bought 2 of the kits at the reduced price, about £15 ish but I suppose being born and bred in Scotland means money saving comes naturally!

Well done! The skycig kit is good value for £15ish but it is no way worth £49 in my Scottish opinion pre filled are convenient but you soon get into the way of topping up and it works out cheaper and opens up a huge array of flavours to try

Gillian the other thing that takes a bit of getting used to is the different technique between smoking and vaping. When smoking we tend to take a quick drag and suck it deep into our lungs. With vaping you need to do a longer, slower drag and hold it in your mouth and throat for a couple of seconds as that's where the nicotine gets absorbed and also where the taste comes through. Then either inhale into the lungs or just exhale, through the nose for even more flavour

Gillian, I'm originally from Yorkshire so money saving also come naturally for me The prefilled cartomisers that Karma linked to are cheaper than the skycig ones. However, buying e-liquid & refilling them saves you even more money

So, here we are less than a week later and I'm wondering about buying some empty cartridges and juice! It didn't take me long to change my mind about the pre-filled ones!
Can I just ask what I need to buy to use alongside my sky cig?
Is is just empty Cartomisers (as shown on vapeescape link a few posts up) and whatever juice I fancy? Is there anything else I should get?
I'm happy to buy the Cartomisers that are designed to be refilled rather than trying to break into the sky cig ones.

Hi again Gillian. Yes, the cartos linked above and some juice is all you need for now... there's a great pik'n'mix selection of juice on the vapeescape site. Refilling the skycig cartos is dead easy. Pop off the white plastic polo on the top with the prong of a fork. Under that there's another polo just sitting on top of the wadding. Drip juice onto the wadding, avoiding the centre hole, put the plastic bits back on and vape away

Yes Gillian, you just need some empty 510 cartomisers like the ones that Karma linked to & fill them with e-liquid of your choice. The only other thing I would suggest you get is a drip tip as it makes vaping with cartomisers so much more comfortable.
Re your skycig cartomisers, they really can be fairly easily refilled.
