Benny a Twist isn't really the best thing for a newbie to go for, no matter how good it is. It's just one battery on it's own without any charger or anything else needed to start vaping. With a bit of research it could be. All you would need is a usb charger, wall plug, some boge carts, some juice and you're set. I didn't buy a "kit". I read a lot, asked a lot of questions and bought what I mentioned. Add to your list a 2nd battery to use while the twist is on charge & a drip tip & the cost for a newbie starts to go up. Also, don't forget, it's hard enough sometimes trying to get some newbies to go for anything larger than a ciggie lookalike, never mind something the size of a twist. Maybe we should go one step further though & just recommend the Provari plus a Penelope to every new member? After all, a good big battery mod & a rebuildable, will save them even more money long term

I have to agree with Chrissie here. As a newbie I was totally confused by all the options. Yes I'm net-savvy, yes I did my research, yes I was open minded. But the more I read the more confusing all the opinions became (because they are just that - opinions) so I ended up buying a kit.
I also believe that starting with cartos, moving on to clearos, upgrading from a Riva to an Argento to a Lavatube etc helped me learn what this vaping malarkey is all about. I think every newbie deserves that learning curve to improve their knowledge, experience and enjoyment.

I made this thread because i wanted someone to point me in the direction of a good piece of kit to get me started....... and that's what happened! I'm currently puffing away on some 'Whisky cream" through the clearomiser and i have to say this is far and away the greatest e-cig/vaping experience i've had so far, well chuffed I can finally get a REAL draw out of a fake ciggie without having to suck like a hoover So, thanks Chrissie for the recommendation, it does indeed appear to be a very good piece of kit for a beginner!

goofyPLease Please Please get a couple of back up clearomisers at the very minimum, now you've found what you like you can buy a couple with that assurance. It's just that these things are consumable items with a finite yet unpredicatble life, you don't want to be left without your favourite delivery system do you? Even if you don't need them for a while when you do they'll be to hand, they don't go off and you'll have to buy replacements sometime won't you.

Don't worry, i will be buying plenty of backups mate Got the spare battery on the go with a cartomiser atm, seems to work pretty nicely too....... and the Arctic Cherry flavour is quite a subtle menthol with a hint of cherry..... not too 'in your face' So, who does the best deals on clearomisers?

Thank you so much Goofy for letting us know you are happy with what you have ordered so far Benny, I'm wondering if you are maybe more peeved off with the fact that you spent money on a "free trial" kit & then a super mini Green Smoke before we could help you? Above all, that's our main aim - ie to try & help folks find an alternative to the over priced, under performing e-cigs that sadly have the most publicity

No Chrissie, I'm not peeved with the greensmoke etc. I was trying to make a point to noobs to do a lot of research, but it looks like I came across in the wrong way reading back over my posts. It was late, I was tired blah blah. I've read the thread again an yes, the Riva kit does offer a lot to a newbie for trying things out. I guess if you have the money to throw about on loads of gear and to try lots of products then you would. If you are on a budget then spending £35 on a kit and then £40 odd quid on another mod, then more £'s on other stuff just isn't a viable way of vaping. I think I've probably broke even on what I've saved and spent, so this month will be buying some juice and that's about it so hopefully, an actual cash saving will be made.........will just have to block this site for a month lol!! Sorry for the numptyness

Sorry for the numptyness I appreciated all the input mate, i know you're just trying to help when you say to "do your own research", the problem for us n00bs is that we have no idea what we're gonna like and what we're not gonna like so telling me to go search through dozens of sites and dozens of reviews is not really what i was looking for at this stage - all i wanted was someone to say "buy this kit, its a great place to start" and that's exactly what Chrissie provided I was a 40 a day smoker and spending over £80 per week on cigs so a starter kit at £30 aint exactly gonna break the bank for me Thanks for all the help everyone, still puffing away on my Whisky Cream (damn i love this flavour ) through the clearomiser! Time to order up some more ejuice........ i hear the pixiejuice is wicked!
