Hmmm, not heard my favourite Christmas song being played much this year? Chrissie you obviously haven't been watching Spotlight - a version of it was played on there recently- www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00ctjb9The girl singer is called Ellie Williams and is a singer/songwriter from Exeter and has a superb voice - FTONY isn't her usual style - if anyone has the time checkout her solo pieces at 16 minutes and 25 minutes on that video. Her version of Wintersong is the best I've ever heard. Edited to add - have yourselves a merry little Christmas everyone

Stan, I did see that on the local SW news. I agree she has a good voice but felt the others let her down a tad in that clip. Not an easy song to perform though. And a very merry Christmas to you Stan

Mungo and I were up at dawn's crack today to take my sister to church. She was doing the sermon so had to go! We dropped her off and then drove to the woods. It was still dark and I needed my torch to see the path. I had vague visions of meeting lots of people out with dodgy intentions or reactive dogs but they didn't appear! 15 minutes into the walk the torch was no longer necessary; just as well because some of the paths were treacherously frozen still. Mungo ran his little legs off. We met a couple with their two GSD's and Mungo behaved impeccably. We wished eachother Happy Christmas and went on our separate ways and then the lady slipped and fell her length! No damage done but she was shaken. I'm so glad it wasn't me.. Nobody to pick me up and give me a cuddle. Anyway, we picked my sister up from church at mid-day and went to my brother's for dinner. The first time we went there, not long after Mungo came to me, he peed in the indoor rabbit hutch, not just a 'scent leaving' pee but a full blown evacuation of his bladder, gallons of it. (poetic licence for full dramatic affect..) Last year passed without incident, apart from the walk where we were pestered by what seemed like hundreds of random dogs. This year my brother told us that the rabbit was in his indoor hutch in the lounge and to make sure that Mungo didn't attempt a repeat performance. I assured him that Mungo was impeccably behaved now and indeed he was. We had a lovely day, ate far too much and Mungo demonstrated his skills in creeping and looking unloved, with spectacular results for him in terms of attention. We are home now, and I haven't told anyone that Mungo watered the Weeping Fig plant in their hallway 30 seconds after we arrived. I think he thought it was a tree placed there for his 'convenience'......
I've had a lovely day, filled with laughter. I hope you have all had the same..
Lynda

Thanks for sharing that story Lynda, oh how i laughed at Mungo flooding the poor rabbit's hutch, was the rabbit in it at the time? Reminds me of the time, many years ago, when my ex-husband had a few too many and woke me in the middle of the night with the sound of running water n yelps.... he was only peeing all over the poor dog in her cage at the bottom of the bed!!! He only realised what he was doing and stopped when i shouted at him!!!

Lilac,
What is it about men when they are drunk?
Nearly 40 years ago (gulp) my parents and sister went to stay in a caravan in a field in Somerset. My brother, S.I.L and I went down to visit them, taking with us their 16 week old bloodhound pup.
Bro and his wife slept in a small tent next to the caravan, pup came into the van with us.
All the 'grown ups' got thoroughly drunk with the landowner who had his own cider shed. Sis and I sat on the steps of he caravan watching everyone sing and dance in a completely uncharacteristic manner.
Mum woke up in the night to see Dad sitting on the side of the bed.. Next morning, Dad went to put his shoes on, they were soaking wet. "Bloody dog's pissed in my shoes" he exclaimed. "No dear" said Mum. "That was you.."
The rabbit wasn't in the hutch.. Lynda

OMG To me her boasting she wants to become the fattest woman in the world is like a smoker boasting they want to be the heaviest smoker ever I weigh in at just a tad over 8 stone ( 5'7" in height) so that means she is the equivalent of getting on for 6 of me! So hope her beautiful little girl isn't influenced by her attitude
