Direct Gov Vaping Petition

I don't know how many are aware of this, but if an official petition is run on this site and gets enough signatures, it has to be discussed in Parliament.
There is a new petition asking that vaping devices and liquids are not classed as tobacco products.
Right now they aren't in the UK but I'm sure people know that crunch time is next year. In the USA eliquid, cartos and so on are classed as tobacco products but nicotine products from pharmacuetical companies are not.
That doesn't make sense because both get nicotine from tobacco leaves.

So please sign the petition to protect our right to vape.

and you have to be careful how things are worded as we don't want e-liquids to be a BigPharma product either

"Created by Dominic Doyle". Who is that? The reason I ask is that it seems to me that this kind of petition (and especially the wording that's used in the petition) would be best organised through an organisation like ECCA. And I have no idea whether DD is from ECCA. Does anyone know?

I was under the impression that there has to be at least 100.000 signatures’ before items like this can or will be discussed in parliament. I may be wrong. If so there is a lot of work to be done.

I would rather delay a discussion in parliament than hurry it, there's no way this is going to turn out well for vapers

Totally agree Ellen. Whilst I think it`s inevitable that things will change, probably for the worse.

I dont think that raising the profile to force the classification of our vaping will end well at all, there are too many interested, powerful, parties involved.

As it stands we are probably nothing more than an annoyance, than a direct threat to revenues.

There are millions of them.

I would prefer this kind of petition to be advocated by ecca and / or ecita before I could consider adding my signature ....

I don't believe we can win any fight going forward with a gung ho attitude ..

IMO it has to be well thought out and precise

Like I said my opinion ...
