Oops, is it just me or was that American Smooth not so smooth? No, it's not just you, but see how the judges "missed" it She is a lovely dancer though.

Tad sad, but not really surprised by the result.

O well, there it is . . . not surprised Tara won, rather her than Pammy - but it all just missed a bit of an edge for me tonight. . . . both the music and Matt's choreography.

I was very, very disappointed in the final as a whole, but yet again Matt's (Aliona's really) choreography was... inexplicable is all I can say. I spent a fortune because the lines were open so long for the final two Back to normality scylla xx

Some pundit on News24 has just said the same Scylla about the final, so we're not alone in our thinking.

I shall switch me telly on, 5Live is pretty useless on the subject... and yet... I'd quite like to forget it all. Watching that series was like falling madly in love, with massive chemistry raging through one's system, then little sparks of doubt interfere and you brush them away because you don't want to lose the feeling but you lose the battle and love turns to, not hate, but something akin. scylla

No, it's the second I've watched all the way thru. I'm normally averse to any of these types of shows, but with Strictly the celebs get to love what they're doing and work so hard, it's more like a genuine competition. And I love to watch ballroom dancing, wish they wouldn't put so much "entertainment" in Strictly, actually, but am in the minority on that one. I used to be a brilliant solo dancer - but can't reveal the circumstances unless I've already let that out scylla

Hi All, I recorded both sections ready to watch later then............when I switched on play, I discovered I had only recorded two seconds of the first one!!!! Will watch it later. Yes, like all of you I found what I did see, a bit ????? peculiar ???? Don't know what it was. I didn't seem to feel the elation of who won etc. Len was so right when he said the choreography was not sticking to the rules. It gives the idea to novices that they can do what they want. But there are very STRICT rules in ballroom dancing, which I think should be adhered to. (It's me age!) Re the band and singers. Been meaning to say that I love them, especially the singers and I wish they would show more of them BUT, I agree something didn't seem quite right last night. Oh well - Skating on Ice next !!! MM

MM, I agree that the band & singers are usually fantastic - such a vast range of music/vocals/lyrics they have to deal with.
