Hi everyone My mum, after approximately 35 years of smoking, would like to give e-cigs a try. She doesn't use the internet, so I've been given the task of finding something but I don't know where to start. I've spent several hours trawling the sites but I'm at a bit of a loss at to what starter kit would be the most suitable for her. Could anyone suggest a good starting point, please? She smokes roughly 20 Mayfair Kingsize a day (0.8mg nicotine) I think a decent battery is a must (she's the sort of person who gets worried if she only has a 10 cigarettes left on her, even if she's never going to use them all before she makes it to the shop) Something that resembles a cigarette may help her more psychologically, but I don't think it'd be an absolute must. She doesn't like menthol. Thank you

Hello & welcome Jessie Unfortunately, the small e-cigs that look like a real ciggie have very short battery life & need recharging every couple of hours. So she would do far better if she wouldn't mind using something more the size of a cigar As for flavour there are hundreds to choose from, apart from menthol Can you give us a rough idea of her budget to get her up & running?

Hi Jessie and welcome. It's a great thing you're doing for your mum. Good to hear that a cig-alike isn't an absolute must, as the battery life is the main problem on those. The usual recommendation here for a new starter is a battery called the eGo or Riva, which will last most people all day on a single charge, but is more cigar sized if this would be acceptable? If so we can give you links and discount codes

Hi Chrissie! Thank you for the welcome Cost isn't too much of an issue, so I don't mind paying out more for a product she's likely to have more success with. Hi Jessie and welcome. Think you we're posting at the same time as me Jessie , have a look at the little pretty ones for when mum is out, they are about half the size of the riva but the same width hence they look like a lip gloss!

This is a brilliant kit, as it comes with 2 batteries, 5 cartomisers & an ego vision & she will just need to buy some e-liquid to go with it - Use discount code allabout for 10% off www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-ve-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151The cartomisers & ego vision are what holds the e-liquid & some folks prefer using cartomisers for the draw they give, others prefer the ego vision clearomisers, hence why that vendor includes both in the kit.

Thanks, beautycat. They do look like lip gloss I think my mum would like something like an extra battery for peace of mind.

I agree that your mum will need a full starter kit to begin with Jesse However, the batteries that Beautycat linked to are compatible with everything that comes with the Riva kit that I linked to

That's great! Thank you, Chrissie! I'll have a look through the e-liquids now to see what she'd hopefully like.
