I've been puffing away on a Gamucci e cigarette for a little while now. It's a bit meh if I'm honest, however because of this I seem to have stumbled upon the hidden world of vaping. Anyways I've been lurking here for a little while now, surreptitiously picking your brains and looking for the fabled next step in (what looks, for some, to be an expensive) this hobby/passtime. So although I'm a bit of a serial upgrader and know that one day I'll probably end up with a Provari (compared to the smokes it's pretty cheap really) but don't really want to jump straight in there. So I've narrowed my next stage equipment purchase to and Ego C Twist. Now the question dear forum is what should I buy to go with my Ego C Twist? Buy bits individually or go for a starter kit + Twist battery? Also I notice there seems to be lots of different manufacturers of Ego C system stuff, is Joyetech stuff the best or are they all much of a muchness? Probably lots more questions to come but thanks in advance peoples Happy vaping

Hello & welcome Fitzroy If your gammuci was 510 threaded, I'd have suggested just buying a twist, but as it's not, you are going to need a couple of new batteries (Twist or ego/Rivas) , Cartomisers/clearomisers, charger & drip tip. So it might be best to go for a Riva/ego kit & just a twist battery to go with it.

If I was you and I had the money I'd jump straight into the provari....the usb charger type ego batteries have a limited shelf life....and the button on mine broke after a couple of months, without even me dropping it or anything....i sure wish i'd just bought a built-to-last mod at the beginning, instead of going in stages, as some suggest..
saying that, an ego twist is cheap-ish

Thanks for the feedback peeps. I'm now having a bit of a choice crisis, hmmmm splurge on the Provari or stick to the Ego-C twist, I've even started having weird vaping dreams.

Don't let the girls here know you're a serial upgrader, they'll have you puffing away on a rarer than hen's teeth Greek exotic in a mud hut begging for e-juice after you've sold your family for the latest shiny.

Welcome!
I'd get some sort of transparent tank. It's good too see how much juice you have left before you get the burning taste.
I have Vivi Novas, which I like, but they have their problems.
I think serial upgrader is good, so I'd leave the Provari so you have something new to play with later on - by which time it may well be better and cheaper.
You'll have plenty to do in the meantime trying out different voltages, resistances, and, mostly, juices.

No doubt you've thought of these things fitzroy, but just in case -
How about the practicalities? Are you going to vape when you are out and about? Some of us are happier vaping in public if its on something that looks as if it is supposed to look like a cigarette rather than on something that looks as if it is supposed to look like a crack pipe.
Do you plan to still use your Gamuccis at all? You may be able to refill the cartridges; if it means destroying the plug at the mouth end you may be able to replace with a drip tip. Otherwise you may prefer to get a couple of 510 cig-alike batteries and decent cartomisers (Boge are good) for out and about and for backup. I sort of doubt that you'll remain happy with the Gamucci flavour, so you'll want something that you can put your favourite juices in.
Always have backup. Most people want backups for the backups too.
How are you going to carry it around? Will it fit in your pocket, or in whatever you carry your Gamuccis in?
Do you life most of your life near a power socket, or a pc? If not, you want a battery that lasts all day, or several of them, maybe more than one charger.
Sorry if this sounds condescending, but it is easy to get these things wrong.

Thanks all :humbled: and LOL FirinBlanks. I've been researching and think I've decided to go for Ego-C twist + Vivi Nova. Giles you're correct, I'll leave the Provari till later.
Does anyone know of anywhere that does a bundle deal involving the twist battery + Vivi Nova?
