Does Tim mean the housing or just the ceramic I wonder Skwoddy? It's a very kind offer from you though.

Darn it, need ceramic housing and they've sold out I have 3 if youre stuck Tim? I am stuck because I have an issue with Penny, thing is I don't know the issue because I'm too scared to look When I take her apart and rewick her the bottom nut is always loose, I do it back up (as hard as I dare) and it comes loose again, it isn't affecting the vape but what I think has happened is that the ceramic in the metal housing is cracked at the bottom. Because it still works I have been ignoring it but vowed to get a new ceramic when they were up for sale again and I missed out (again). If you could see your way to selling me one I would be hugely in your debt, it is an incredibly kind offer Looking at the GGuk site I am slightly confused though, is the "ceramic housing" the metal bit the ceramic goes into and the "Ceramic 3 pack" the ceramics that go inside penny and has a channel you lay one of the wires down? It's the ceramic inside bit I think I need.

Tim the ceramic is the white coloured bit made of ceramic, the ceramic housing is the metal bit it slots into and which the large retaining ring screws onto.
That little nut always comes undone on mine too. I don't think it unscrews while in use, I think when unscrewing the housing from the base it binds somehow

Yes, the housing is the metal part. The three pack is the actual white ceramics.
I've noticed the nut on mine comes loose sometimes when I open it. I think it happens when you unscrew the housing from the 510 base.
Going over the Master Builder with Mat tonight if you wanted to pop down. I'll taken a look for you.

Tim, the nut comes undone as a design flaw, I lubricate that little o-ring every time I re-wick to ease the problem. It's caused by the o-ring sticking to the base when it's compressed so that when you unscrew the ceramic housing , the housing turns but the o-ring and little nut doesn't so it unscrews. The ceramics are in stock in a 3 pack if you think yours are cracked goldengreek.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41&products_id=286

Ahhhhhhh - so it's not just me then? Thank God for that, and thanks for clearing up what bit I need, at £4 I just ordered three of them. Thank you so much for the kind offer skwoddy, now I know that there is more than likely not an issue then I can relax.
Thanks everyone!!!

Odd - if you bought all the spare parts would you have a Penelope? What would be missing? If so the parts only come to £50.75 but yet the actual unit sells for £73.99........

The base and the big locking ring are missing, along with the O rings Ahhh the base missing would be the key pain in the butt, the rest could be sourced I'm sure. Ah well, had visions of making me a new Penny for £50

Thanks mate - when I put out my cry for help I thought the bit I needed wasn't in stock but it appears it is in stock and I have now ordered three of the little blighters for myslef, once again thank you for the really kind offer Having a bit of a bad Penny week, everything is tasting a bit burnt which is the first time I have had this. When the Ceramics turn up I will do a complete rebuild and deep clean to see if that helps. I have the juice control as wide open as it will go and I'm still getting a muted burnt taste on a long drag

Let it cool naturally before you rinse it in cold water and use a cotton bud to scrub the ceramic insides. Don't put a hot ceramic into cold water as the shock will cause it to crack. It sounds like the problem is the ceramic.

Someone gave me a tip for freshening up a ceramic -
Ceramic is the most taste absorbent part, but its the easiest thing to sort out: get a pair of tweezers and hold it in a very hot flame(cooks torch, gas hob) until it turns red, and dip it in water. Repeat the process till its totally white, and looks brand new.
But from what Blakey says, I'd only try that once you have your spares lol. BTW, I've not tried it.
