<<<The throat hit that gets your attention, the gratifying feeling that only nicotine can deliver and if this can be achieved whilst delivering a great taste to boot, >>> Agree absolutely and the one that is doing that for me at the moment is a Grizwalds Blend called Chocolate Limes. Just like the sweets I remember but all the good feelings. Indeed it may even surpass Royals (but don't tell anyone!)

Welcome Han.
You've kicked off a really interesting debate. I would imagine that the alcohol is vapourised by the atty as alcohol cooked in food evaporates, but you could check with vendors before ordering.
RY4 might give you the rollie taste you require. A lot of vendors sell it but I don't know about the alcohol content. Check out the discount codes before you buy anything. Vendors here are offering between 5% & 25% dissies.
Stick to sample sizes (5ml) until you find your juice. Any you aren't keen on should be stored in the fridge or freezer for a few weeks & tried again, as tastebuds riot when you quit cigs.
There's a good classified section here to sell on or trade any vaping stuff you no longer want.

Alcohol itself is not the problem here. If it was then anyone who drank alcohol would be an alcoholic. Clearly this is not the case, however any contact with alcohol, for an Alcoholic is a dangerous thing to do and so and whether it is straight, vapourised or evaporated makes no difference. Alcoholics must steer away from any alcohol at all times.
What this post has highlighted for me, is that although we criticise the tobacco industry for the amount of hidden chemicals that are in cigarettes, we do not fully understand the hidden chemicals that could be in e-cigs. Who knows what is actually in the food flavourings that are added to e-juice or what diluting agents are used.
If, like me, you are an alcoholic and you taste a flavouring and you are dubious about it, then bin it. If I am ever to get hooked back on the drink then it will be with a couple of cases of the finest Malt Whisky, not with a 10ml bottle of suspicious e-juice!

thanks for the welcome clutter, and it is a massively interesting subject...........but I must admit a little part of me wishes I hadn't noticed the alcohol content then I could just choose any of the e-juices I fancy! I was happily clicking away and ordering yesterday when I noticed and had to empty my shopping card

I fully understand why some of you need to take this care with what you consume. I'm sure a quick email to the vendor of any juice you fancy before commiting to buy will be answered quickly and truthfully. For the mass-produced juices such as Hangsen and Dekang the vendor should be able to get a full ingredients list. Vendors who mix their own juices (Pixie, Grizwald, Vapist etc) they will know what they put in.

I wonder!
I have just recieved my first batch of flavours to start mixing my own e-juice. Every flavour has exactly the same Ingrediants;- Natural & Artificial Flavour, PG. Now that does not exactly fill me with confidence that everything is hunky dory as far as MY health is concerned.
At best, I'd say that e-cigs are considerably healthier than ciggies, even for us alkies, but they have a long ways to go before I would class them as 100% safe. So if in doubt, don't vape it.

I had a PM earlier form a very kind member who took a breathlyser test after reading this thread, for alcohol in the blood stream after vaping 3 different e liquids for a day. This was with a disposable kit which are known for their accuracy. It was completely negative. So from that result, the conclusion can only be that any alcohol initially present in e liquid has evaporated by the time it reaches the blood and body organs. Presumably by passing through the heat of the atomiser.

Oh, that's why I became an alky. I didn't have my disposable breathlyser kit with me!!!! Silly me. ???
Seriously though. Just like all these strange tastes that you get in mincemeat pies at christmas time, if you are unsure, don't.
There are hundreds of lovely tasting e-juices out there that taste just fine and like I have said, I have tried a lot and only found one that tasted alcoholic, so it went down the sink.

I am not going to go into any details here, but I do feel that I need to explain some basics to those that are a bit sceptical about the minute amounts of alcohol in e-juices and the effects that that may have on others. If I unknowingly swallow some alcohol, then 99 times out of 100, nothing would happen. If I knowing took even the smallest amount of alcohol, then it would set up a compulsion that would lead to me to probably going back on the drink in such a way that it would be like I had never stopped all these years ago.
I have witnessed such things and two of my best friends and a number of people I know are now dead from doing exactly this. I have no intention of following their example.

I'm not anti alcohol, if I was I'd have left my hubby years ago! Alcohol is dangerous to me because of the powerful medication I take. I'm convinced enough now that that any alcohol in e juice can't alter the effects of my medication, so I'm puffing away like a steam train again!

lobey, the same applies to me, If I know there is alcohol in the e-juice and I decide to have it anyway that is a very dangerous decision for me to take because it will allow me to maybe think.......well I could have one.....when really I couldn't.......or I will end up in a terrible place, mentally and physically.........I totally get you.
