This topic has made me think more about my alcoholism than I have in years. Not a bad thing by the way!!! It is usually only around Christmas & New Year (amateur drunks time ) that I give any thought to being extra vigilant about what I put in my mouth. Now, with my new Vaping Hobby, I shall be extra careful about the juices and flavours that I buy and now, as I head down the mixology route, more particular about using only de-minerised water for any dilution that needs done.

Yes Han, I did notice them and have put them in my favourites to try them when the missus forgets the bank balance and I can sneek another order away.

The gauntlet is still down as to finding an eliquid that tastes like a cigarette, If anyone thinks they have found one I ask them to fall off the wagon and take a drag from a real cigarette just to see how wrong they are. I can't resist a gauntlet (even if I feel it may be in danger of hijacking a thread about something more important) so I dug my old rollies out of the back cupboard. And yes, my Old Smokey double flavour Old Holborn really does taste like Old Holborn tobacco, to me at least. To my surprise I had to up my volts to match it - my preferred level of flavour and throat hit is now less than the real thing. So I didn't finish the rollie. I have no idea if Old Smokey use alcohol, but it might be worth asking them. Incidentally, I have a lot of admiration for alcoholics who don't drink because they can do something I can't - resist a serious addiction - I don't believe I'm capable of giving up nicotine.

Everyone who smokes will become addicted to nicotine. But not everyone who drinks will become addicted to alcohol. And there in lies the problem because no one has yet come up with a cure for alcoholism and no, unfortunately not an E-Nip either!!!!
The nearest long term answer is the AA Program which is the tried and tested world wide.

Respect for falling off the wagon briefly, respect for finding a baccylike liquid, I suspect youre one of the lucky few to find a likeness with taste being so subjective, but alas I shall go order some of this liquid to see for myself, you have probably answered another member or two here that are looking for an Amber leaf replacement as OKsmokey do that aswell. Thread was only semi hijacked as tobacco taste is there

I have to say that just the smell of smoke is now enough to put me off, however put a bottle of single malt in front of me, and the temptation is there.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but I am fine as long as I can't taste or smell alcohol (especially scotch), so I just avoid those flavours of juice, I haven't had any issues with any of the other juices I've tried, and I'm sure from reading this thread, that a number will have contained alcohol (noob here is just getting used to pg/vg ratios and had no idea alcohol was used).

giles, I like your experiment lol......how long since you had a real rollie? and did it make you feel strange smoking it? I think about 3 weeks han. I'm somebody who can't take the idea of 'never', so when I started vaping I thought I'll have one daily after supper. But that one per day plan quickly became one/week, and then "why bother". In my experience moving from smoking to vaping has absolutely nothing in common with the experience of dealing with an addiction. I'm still not only a nicotine addict but also a nicotine user and expect to remain one. Where I'm luckier than you is that living a 'normal' life with nicotine usage was always comparatively extremely easy compared to alcohol and now with vaping it is a trivial problem by any standard. It was slightly strange getting out the tobacco, but I think mostly because people keep asking "how long since your last one". I had no worry at all that I might move back to the rollies as a result. Finding out that I actually prefer vaping the same taste to smoking (now I've gone vv) was something of a magic moment though. Before I wasn't 100% confident of the long term future. Now the only thing that might move me back to smoking is if they make vaping illegal.
