lol Scylla.I keep saying i will cut down,and need to.But i cant beat myself up to much coz it must be 8 months now without an analog. I also have dramatically cut down on my alcohol consumption.I now mainly drink alcohol free lager or just 2% morrisons value cans.Its all thanks to vapeing that i kicked my binge drinking to.So i guess i cant really complain,as i do appreciate we all get vapeing issues at times,just wish it was not my passthrough as i love it so much. I still havent found any bloody tape yet.Typical,when you need somat you can never find it

Your rite Scylla,i wont beat myself up to much about it.I just think that if i can become a light vaper then i will start saving alot more money.In saying that,the money that i wasted on the booze has mounted up.Enough for a nice family holiday next year. I tried the extra tape around the carto,the carto stays cooler but still toasted lips on passthrough.I wander if the hub is faulty. ???

Just a suggestion from me Ian, you're a heavy vaper, which indeed I am myself given the opportunity . . . however I don't use one device exclusively, so nothing is continuously used at it's maximum output, if you were to spread your usage over a couple of mods I do wonder if atty's/parts would last you a little longer?

That is a valid point Perpy and i have started to now do exactly that.Ive got a Tornado with a LR510 atty on,SDMKII with a 510LR carto on,and GD boxmod with an LR901 all on the go now.I keep chopping and changeing and it seems to be working out better spreading the usage across devices.Only bad thing is finding a spare socket to put other things apart from e-cig chargers.Im not happy with the passthrough though at 5v.Is there any way of using it on the hub at just 3.7v?

Ian, if you want to reduce the voltage on your GDPT, then you need to use a lower amp/volt hub.

Today I've just got the new GDPT I ordered & it's more like my original one that I bought a year or so ago. It just works perfectly with a standard 901 attie (using a 501/901 adapter) & plugged into the high volt/amp hub I bought off eBay.

IMHO, 510's just get too hot at 5v & as ever, the 901 are the best all round atties.

I think that i need to try some standard 901s on this passthrough then.I thought that these TW ones were 901 but did you say that TW 901s are a different atty Chrissie?Im sure a while ago you said they were actually a different atty?Ive tried about everything else and nothing has worked without burning my lips.I havent used the thing for ages coz of this.I just presumed i would be able to use whatever atty/carto i wanted to.Would a HV atty work better on it maybe?Im seriously cursed with the passthrough at the minute.

The HV 510 would work Ian, along with a fading LR910 on the GDPT, that's what I've got on mine atm as it's passed it's life on anything under 5v.

Thanks Perpy i will give the HV510 a go and see how it works.So am i the only one using cartos on the passthrough or somat?I know im doing somat wrong.

I have mostly used 808 cartos on the GD-PT, using a 510>901 adapter. That should surely prevent the carto overheating.

But as said, I always use a Delrin drip-tip with cartos cos I really don't like their mouth-feel on their own.

An adapter plus a drip-tip should be a double safeguard against over-heating.

Ive used 808s on it to Scylla and you are rite,they dont get hot but the vape is not strong at all for me.Plenty of vapour and flavour but poor throat hit for me.Unless these particular 808s are crap quality.They are made by Kanger,but they seem either sharp and burny or weak and disappointing,very much like TWs 901 standard attys.I will have another try with them later though.

Ian, TW's 901 atties are RN4075's & they do tend to burn hotter.

Thanks Chrissie.I thought maybe i had imagined that you had said it.Yes,thats totally rite,i tried one earlier on passthrough and it was rubbish and burning hot.I also tried a KR808D carto and they are still as pants as i remember,they must be for ex silkcut smokers.So how can TW get away with that?and that is really clever of you to notice Chrissie.They are the only 901s ive ever had,so really i havent tried proper ones apart from the LRs,which is now my everyday atty.Interesting,so do eastmall sell the standard 901s?I might get some next order.Ive always slated the 901 for being poor and all this time they were RN4075s.tut.I must get proper ones to give them a fair try.Sorry all 901 users,ive ditched every atty now apart from 801 and 901LRs,the 901 LR wins hands down as the best atty ever made in my opinion.
