what to say if someone doesn't like you vaping!

I haven't had that situation arise yet thankfully and I vape, pretty much everywhere. Other than busy trains or buses. And sometimes I'm a little discreet about it.

The closest I came to someone saying something was sat at costas, on charing cross forecourt. (ie outside the station). A couple of young lads were smoking and a member of staff came and sat down telling them rather abruptly to go away, pointing at a no smoking sign above there head. He didn't actually speak to me though. I still don't know how I would have dealt with it.

I have had a small altercation on a bus in Rhodes where a lady was telling the bus in a very loud voice how she had been stung by Ryan Air for her baggage allowance (kind of shows me she doesn't read anything if she managed to be over by £600 worth!!) and how angry she was. She then turned to me who with Penny and Provari in 18650 mode was creating subtle clouds (no one near me I hasten to add bar my kids and missus) and said to me "smoking is not permitted on here", to wish I replied "I know" and carried on. I was going to leave it there but pointed out that what was being produced was harmless water Vapour and she got back in her box.

I have vaped everywhere, the pub (as I get through my pints the clouds tend to get bigger and bigger but no one minds), airport, airport hotel, almost everywhere.

Where I draw the line (as I did when smoking) is where there are other peoples children (because you will always get parents backs up) and where people are eating food, even though it's allowed I wouldn't want wafts of Cocomel whilst tucking into my grub

I don't normally vape in restaurants either, but was in a fairly crowded Pizza Express with a friend who is a bit more keen on her rights than I am, and she started vaping so I joined her. No one said anything.

Not fair on Kids or Diners, I've often thought too that Vaping may look more attractive to children. So I dont attract attention where they are.

I've been vaping for 6 weeks now and I vape everywhere , hospital/pubs/shops . The only time I've been spoken to is by a couple of people who have worked out it's an e-cig and want to know how I'm getting on with it.
I've had numerous people glare at me and sit there seething but they quickly become confused at the lack of the tabacco smell so no-one has yet to challenge me , much to my disappointment as I'd love to tell them that I've managed to quit smoking .

Is it possible that so many of us are waiting for someone else to vape first? I can imagine being on a train for example, somebody starts and then the train fills with vapour as 20 other people join in lol

Not had a problem to date & have vaped on London buses, tube, cafes, pubs & hospital. I don't ask permission first but would stop vaping in a cafe/pub/hospital if the owner/staff requested. I wouldn't stop if joe public 'forbade' me.

Ive had no problems either and have vaped everywhere I go including hospitals and doctors. I dont know whether its an age thing with me or what but I dont really care what other people think about what im doing, I dont need or want their approval, they need to go about their business and I with mine. I have had some starers, I just give them a look that almost challenges them to say something, as yet nobody has, when someone asks about it then I am happy to tell them.

i had a bad comment once when i first started vaping in work, it so happened to be an ex working with me. told me i look stupid so my reply was short and straight to the point. i just pointed out the fact that one of us stinks of fags and spends a few hundred quid a month, the other smells well lets just say fruity lol and spends very little on liquid and replacement parts 'now who looks stupid?' was my last comment to her before leaving it be lol

yes that may sound harsh but thats only due to underlying issues between us both, i wouldnt recomend speaking to someone on the streets like this

Lol, shame you have to work with an ex, she's hardly gonna say anything positive though.
Think I would have replied "It's better in bed than you ever were", Am i just bitter?

thanks everyone for all the replies, I feel a bit more confident after reading all your experiences...........I don't want to upset anyone, but at the same time I want to be able to go for a coffee and a vape lol! I was considering whether having a card made up with details of what vaping is was a good idea, but it seems from all the replies on this post that in general noone really challenges you, ahhhh the joy of living in the UK lol
