advice on kitty insurance

Hello. Totally non-vape related question here.

I've got 2 kittens, girls. They should be ready for neutering soon. Anyone know of a pet insurance company which covers neutering?

I know Tesco are cheap, but when I tried to get a quote and to find out about this stuff, their server went down.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Although like car insurance, im not entirely sure if the cheapest like tesco's are included, best I can Advise is join the moneysupermarket forums, or consumer action forums, great places for such subjects.

Your right Chrissie, and they also wont cover any problems from neutering. My Tilly had problems after being neutered but the vets covered the costs of her treatment.

I'm vaguely fed up with mine after a bit of a row with a vet nurse about feeding my boys raw food.....

You will be hard pressed to find any vet or vet nurses who agree with raw feeding, mine gave up telling me I was harming my dogs years ago I don't 100% raw feed any more as the dog who needed it died of old age 13 years after I was told he should be put down due to serious commercial food allergies Still give mine raw meat frequently....as for insurance I wouldn't be able to afford to insure my lot so instead I put £10 per dog into a saving account every month and don't touch it except for vet emergencies.

Thats a really good idea Pam, think i'll do that for Murphy & maybe Oscar as well, altho i had been planning to keep him insured.

My vet is fairly easy going about raw feeding, mostly i think, on account of seeing Tyson's horrible coat problems clearing up after a few weeks on raw...it's such a shame more vets aren't open to considering raw as an option for feeding...

Booblay, check with your local Cat's protection or other cat rescues to see if they are offering vouchers to help towards neutering.

Compared to cost of emergency treatment if you kittens get pregnant & have complications, neutering is far cheaper.

Most cat protection league or rescues offer a voucher as Chrissie says , in general it's for rescue cats , but I'm sure they will be able to offer help and advice

Beech House on Westend Road Lyn, they were great when Tilly was really ill after being neutered and covered all the aftercare themselves.

Hi Booblay, I searched for weeks for decent insurance for my dogs and finally decided on purely pets insurance www.purelypetsinsurance.co.uk/ they seem to cover alot more than other companies and they are fairly cheap, that said there is no point using an accident only, 12 month or accident and illness policy because if your pet gets a lifetime illness, like diabetes or any form of joint problem etc etc etc, they will not cover it, so the only policy with any insurance company worth having is the lifetime policy, also if your cats are pedigree be very careful the insurance company don't disallow genetic or cognative illnesses (purely pets cover these) for obvious reasons ie:any illness could be disallowed because the insurance company decide it's a cognative issue..........hope that helps/makes sense, please feel free to ask any questions, I really have done alot of really boring research on the subject lol!
