Just wondering what the typical practice is. I'm tending to make new wicks & coils every 2 weeks

About every 10 days, I'm sure the coil would still be good past this point, I think I had one for 2 weeks once, but I usually want a new flavour in after about 10 days so I make a new coil

I just dismantle it and clean the wire, cut a new bit of wick and use the same wire. Depending on the juice I'm vaping, do this once a week or possibly twice. No point making a new coil when the other one just needs a clean.

When I get a good resistance on a coil, I get used to it and like to keep it that way. I don't like the way a new coil takes around a day to settle in.....I mess with the voltage too much and get annoyed that the juice doesn't taste the same. It's been working well for me. Haven't made a new coil for one of the penelopes for around 6 weeks. Another thing I've found is those ready wires are a little low for me. One of them was 1.5ohms.....even on the lowest setting on my twist is seemed to be over doing the juice.

Tip, remove the wick and coil from the penelope and rinse it under a hot tap as one piece- then, put it all to flame, either a cigarette lighter of over a gas stove and torch it till the wick turns back to white, this will also clean the coil. put it back in penelope and re-connect it. Good as new

Does that has to be one of those lighters that burns with a blue flame Blakey, rather than a standard yellow flame type?

I'm a lazy, sloppy mare . . . so when it goes pop Oneday. Yeh well at 12.5 mls per day I guess you just don't have the time for faffing about changing wicks and coils

I've done it with both types, it's quicker with the blue flame but perfectly do-able with the yellow. I only do this if I'm out and a wick decides to gunk up and produce some dodgy flavours, any other time I must admit I just re-wick as I never really suffer too much of the new coil syndrome

usually every 2 - 3 weeks any longer it just doesn't give off the same intensity of flavour or vapour ................... when I want to change flavours in between I usually just rinse, dry burn and re-fill

I rewicked/coiled mine last night, but still not happy with the results. The last coil went open circuit on me just before I went on holiday (26/9) and I left Penelope in a drawer until last night. I'm using it right now and it's still not perfect but not too bad.
