I perhaps should have linked this in another thread, but I remember somebody talking about the tubes/tanks. for some premade tanks and the option for custom made (im not that good at measurements (macca).

Well I seem to be coiling ok ish did about 4 wraps of .20 Kanthal and it was reading about 2.2 on the ohm meter,my problem seems to be getting the 500 mesh to wick well (didn't bring a blowtorch home) ,I heated it on the gas hob till it was red hot a few times,then burned some juice of it,heated it again,repeated this but its not giving great vapour and is getting a bit dry when pushed,but I think I may need to remove it and do this a couple more times....left some batteries charging for now,will try again later

Once you've heated it over the gas a few times, you don't need to heat it again after you've put juice on.

Just burn the juice off and put more juice on, to burn off again. Repeat that several times and it should wick well

I think your wick is not allowing air into the tank and that's why it's not wicking.

A simple way to test this would be to remove the filling screw on the opposite side and see if it wicks..Obviously keep it upright with the screw removed..

If it does then you need to roll the wick a little smaller so that there is clearance between the wick and the wick hole preferably with a hole though the center of the wick.

If your wick is long and bottoming out cut it off at the bottom at an angle using some wire cutters.

Cheers guys I am about to go and have another play,when I first did the wick it was to tight,making me push it down the hole,now its a bit better,but I will roll it again and make sure its a nice easy fit,I did the 45 degree cut on the bottom,so that should be ok,all in all quite pleased as I have never done any of this before and I'am nearly there

Play played with,got it vaping properly now,will probably redo the mesh,as this bits a bit mucked about with now,I have built 3 successful coils and not had to use the sleeves,each time 4 wraps bring me out at around 2.1 ohms,with the .20 Kanthal,I have taken some pictures so you can see if you think what I have done is ok and also a couple showing that my air hole in the cap is fine on one (well is this were it should be) but way out on the other,so it will need a bit of rubbing down at work Monday before I can use it

Looking very professional, always satisfies me when i can leave a long run between top of the wick and the posi post without hot spots

Hope she's vaping like a train for ya, Mesh looks fine by the way, 15 mins use she'll be solid.

be careful that overhang doesnt short on your top cap though, if its all ok id cut it down a little

Cheers bud,I was bending the top in but must have lost my grip doing this one,but it works fine,I will remove the excess now its going well and could pull it in again,certainly vaping well,my juice expense is going up though

Wait till you try a double wick mate, you wont look back (but you may need a small tanker following you)

reading macca blakey and all the rest of you
i managed about 40 tall and 55 wide mesh rolled tight four turns of .16 nichrome (2 ohm reading)
4,1 volts and vaping like a steamer
and returned to grizwalds 10mg gy4 and is lovely and sweet with a beautiful throat hit
silky honey taste perfect
have had many unsucessful attempts at mesh wicks but this was so much easier
tried it with a sock first but pulled it off for better wicking

Funny enough 4.1 is what I'am set at on my LT,your right finding all the info these guys have done is such a help,I found a macca vid where he tested the mesh for wicking,which was a godsend
