Hi Hollie & #welcome2#
As the others say you need two batteries. If you want to keep to something that looks and feels more like a cigarette then you need at least three, because they need charging after a couple of hours. OK Smokey does reasonable cig-alike kits which include some juice - good range of tobacco flavours.
Chances are that sooner or later you will want a bigger battery than the cig-alike, which is why the others are recommending the Riva. It's not just the battery life, they give you more flavour too. You will need to order juice as well as that kit.
As you're a pack-a-day smoker I'd start with 18mg. I'd pick at least one non-tobacco flavour to try - espresso coffee, chocolate, a fruit flavour, whatever you fancy - just to get an idea of what is possible.

Hi Hollie, I'm only 5 weeks into this vaping lark but i have not had one ciggie in all that time and its great feeling, vape escape for me i bought this one www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Deluxe+Vaping+Kits+%3E+VE+Vision+1000+Ultimate but have moved on to several others very quickly. I am still using tobacco flavours mostly but as has been said they aren't much like tobacco really and there are loads of them, trial and error i'm afraid , good luck and welcome, this forum is brilliant

Hollie, when you get your Riva kit, the batteries will come with a factory charge, so you can use one syttraight away while fully charging the other However, they will need turning on first by clicking the button on them 3 times. Any questions you have, please don't hesitate asking them

Hi Hollie and welcome to the forum! Plese don't be afraid to ask what may seem to be silly questions, we've all been there (in my case quite recently!) The folk here are very kind and just want to help you get the best from your gear and juice. Enjoy

hi again well unfortunatly i couldnt afford the riva kit so i got the sd keyring maxi and a drip tip and some sample e liquids i got them this morning had a go on it didnt taste to good and made me cough ....... so i thought ooo lets change taste opps didnt get any cartomisers so cudnt change flavour however i managed to adjust my drag so it didnt make me choke on it taste is rather sweet ive kinda got used to it but one down point it gives me a dull headache, i get slightly dizzy, very hot and my ears burn!! now i googled it and apparently im dehydrated but i did have a little tiple last night (maybe a bit more than a little) so we will see tomorrow otherwise im gonna have to start drinking more water based drinks (not even going to go into my bad diet) so i have just ordered some cartomisers and more samples lol im sticking with 5ml samples atm because i feel im gonna be one for changing flavours all the time!!(and i found peanut butter my food heaven) ive also had an offer on total e liquid to get the starter kit ego c (i think) has a tank and atomisers and they send me 3 tanks with it for free (thanks paul if your on here) im not 100% sure on them i dont now if im one for having to change atomisers and bits but im considering it anyway just thought i would let you know

Hollie, you should habve got 2 cartomisers with your SD keyring.
Personally, I wouldn't go for an ego C kit with the seperate atomisers & tanks as I've heard a few folks have had problems with wicking with that type of system. You would do better to upgrade to either an ego/Riva that comes with cartomisers/clearomisers.

Hollie - a bit of a minefield, isn't it!? You seem to be getting good advice here, so all I'm going to say is 'don't scrimp on cheap juice'. I made that mistake, and although I'm still vaping it, it's more to get rid of it than anything else. I've found a couple that I like - a RY4 and the Vermillion River Minnesota Menthol, both of which I tried first with 5ml testers. This is the best advice - buy in small quantities first until you find one which floats your boat. Then you can treat yourself to a bigger bottle, which will be proportionately a bit cheaper too. Keep on asking the questions BTW - we were all at your stage at one time, and we're only too happy to help you if we can. Remember though that taste is subjective, so my favourites may not be yours (do try the Vermillion River range though, at Liberty Flights - they are not cheap, but well worth the money!). Happy vaping!!
