The term stinkies.

To be honest, I'd never known cigarettes to be called stinkies or nasties until I began using this forum so I suppose I just picked up on using the terms from seeing them here... I don't want upset or hurt anyone's feelings so I won't use them again now that I know that some members do find them offensive.

no offence intended or aimed at any one btw, just want to put my point out there

but i tend to get more bothered by people telling me what is politically correct to call things or not to call things
surely offence is in the intention behind what is said rather than what is actually said

Its very true that if it wasn't for e-cigs that I would indeed be smoking cigarettes. BUT its also very true that cigarettes just plain stink >

I'm not telling anyone what to call cigs. Or saying what is right or wrong. I only said that I dislike the term. I realize this wasn't aimed at me, I just want to reinforce that point. I mean just because my family dislikes my cooking, doesn't mean I'm going to stop cooking.

I do however find it interesting that this term has come into use after switching to vaping. I still believe it's quite a negative term. Clearly I'm in the miniority here. So I'm going to drop it.

I don't like the term stinkys or analogues either but only because they sound american. They are cigs, pipes and cigars and they all stink.

The term is used to describe the cancer causing nicotine delivery system not the users

You aren't in the minority but it is a case of just live with it and let your eyes just scan past the term or replace it with cigs in your head.

i think the term stinkies came about once we stopped smoking as we were then able to fully appreciate how stinky they are and make us

most of us dont use the word negatively against smokers... in fact i have come across very few anti smoking vapers

Mr offensive here, sorry if I've upset anybody, but I say what I

see or smell in this case, after 43yrs being a smoker myself I

guess that makes me Mr hypocrite too, it's still a fact if you

smoke you do smell, I've nothing personal against a person that

chooses to smell, I'm just happy I don't stink anymore
