Sorry if it seemed that I was trying to take the GGTS off topic.
It just irritates me when someone completely new to the forum leaps in to buy something on offer, or offers something to sell, when we know nothing about them.
This forum works as well as it does because we build up a relationship based on trust and respect and common courtesy.
I know that what we see isn't necessarily what we get but it has worked for us so far.
That's why I distrust people who only appear here to buy or sell. I'd like to see a minimum number of posts before people were allowed to trade.
I guess I'm just being mean....

Shall I move your thread onto the General Vaping Board Lynda, where we can discuss it away for the Classifieds ads themselves?
It a topic that warrants some discussion I think . . . .
Wonder if a poll attached to your thread might be an idea as well?

Totally agree with everything you`ve said there Lynda.
I know Chrissie trys to keep rules etc to a minimum on here, but minimum post count for the Classies might be something to consider.
Often the time comes when a regular user posts an item for sale, and a complete unknown person snaps it up.
If they want to just use the classies then stalk other forums....
Thats my view and not neccesarily the views of anyone else!

i see what you are saying but i still think who the trader/seller trades or sells to is up to their discretion and i would advise it was to someone they feel they can trust

My personal discretion would be NOT to trade with anyone who has a low post count or , someone who I have not seen actively posting in other sections of the forum . So to that end it's more a case of seller beware over buyer beware

all items of a shiny nature should go through lunerdog for the cleaning treatment seriously I think it should be sellers discretion but maybe could be advertised as such IE item for sale £xx will not necessarily go to the 1st pm or to advertise a requirement of being an active member to be considered

Sorry i disagree. The majority of newcomer’s tend to want to learn from the more established enthusiast and from this a relation of trust is built it up. I myself have learnt an awful lot in a very short period of time from this forum. I wouldn’t think twice of purchasing items from any member’s of this forum nor refuse advice on how best to spend my well earned money because at the end of the day i do believe that there is more good people than bad.

Whilst I agree with your sentiments piper , all I am saying that as an established member of this forum I would have serious doubts as to trading with someone ( no matter how genuine their intentions ) if they had a very low post count , and did not contribute to the other sections of the forum whether it be asking numerous questions or otherwise .
Unfortunately I have seen people ripped off on other forums (fora) and would not wish to join their ranks.
IMO trust is earned , and I agree with the opinion of the OP

Whatever you think, Perpie.
Of course I think we should be able to sell to whomever we wish, but other fora have minimum post requirements that probably help to deter 'trawlers'

I agree with Gordy & don't see any problems with selling/swapping to newbie/zero posters.
I wouldn't have any objection to a minimum period of membership &/or minimum number of posts before being allowed to trade/sell, bearing in mind minimum no. of posts disadvantages long time members who lurk without posting.
Achieving 5/10/15 posts agreeing/disagreeing/thanking previous posts isn't onerous, can be racked up quickly & doesn't tell one anything about the character of the poster.

I think piper this gripe is more aimed at those that cut and run they only scour the classifieds with minimum posts not that I am suggesting this happens but its easy for someone to put a sale up at a reasonable price on here, then sell it, only to find it at an inflated price elsewhere and therefore one of our more regular members may miss out due to not having access to the thread at the time If you look on the ukv site the popular items go within minutes of the sale being put up and those that have been at work can only look on you can pm seller but you cannot advertise in the classies unless you have been quite active Even you yourself have a good post count but could easily have missed out on something you wanted to someone who is not active elsewhere on the forum ooh dont I go on sorry

Whatever you think, Perpie. I think it would be better on the main board Lynda, where it would open up the discussion more, although if I move it now, all the ' likes ' will go . . .
