No, not at all. I'm sorry if my post came across the wrong way it wasn't intended. All I'm saying is that I'm happy with the way I have it. Just because it works for me doesn't mean it's right for you or for anyone else. Do what YOU feel is right, for YOU.

I intended to quit with ecigs but find it both enjoyable and so much less detrimental to my health that I don't really intend to quit.
I have used 8mg liquids for a long time now and I'm very used to and comfy with that level. It's not too much and it keeps me feeling alright.
I know I don't need to vape because I've gone a few days just not vaping at all. It's a choice. I want to and it's not likely to do damage to me so why not?
I quit at the age of 22 with ecigs because smoking 20 rollies a day was almost killing me. My life was slipping out of my hands and I was a wreck for smoking. I had to do something or I swear I wouldn't have seen my 40th birthday and I'm not too sure I would have seen 30 honestly.
Cold turkey? No dice. Smoking cessassion? Didn't even go to my appoitment which I still feel bad about. Patches and gum? Way too expensive for me.
Ecigs? Completely revolutionised everything for me. I'm back to working out! If you'd asked me to walk 10 meters two years ago I would have struggled to do it. Now I'm working out and have a physically demanding job and my lungs and heart aren't struggling to just keep me standing. It's great and I don't think I'm ready to quit nicotine completely yet or if I ever will be.
I compare it a coffee because it has the same effect to me: it keeps me awake and alert. It isn't the best thing for me but it's really not likely to do damage to me and thanks to vaping I have my life back in a big way.

Pretty much the same as Blakey, except I started out wanting to quit altogether, after vaping a few days I quickly realised A, I didn't need to, and B, I didn't want to, I liked it too much.

I'm a glass half empty type of person and deep down I have niggling reservations about swapping one habit/addiction for another. I know that vaping has to be a thousand times safer than smoking but I'm not convinced that it carries no long term health risks. Some regulation of the contents of e liquid would be welcome but that will make it more expensive and maybe not sufficiently cost effective.
I'm delighted to be off the smokes but I hate being addicted to both the nicotine and the practice of inhaling and exhaling. My goal is to wean myself off the nicotine by gradually reducing the level and then dealing with the habit. I have a feeling that quitting the habit will be harder than eliminating the nicotine. A fortnight ago I was a chain smoker. Now I'm a chain vaper.
Past experience tells me that the overpowering urge to smoke can hit after as long as a year cig free, so I plan to always have a small amount of juice on hand to save me falling into the trap of having just one cigarette to kill the craving.
It would be great to hear of people who eventually quit vaping but I suppose that when they do quit vaping they also cease to be active on forums like this.

Addict - I have the same reservations as you. I initially started on ecigs because I wanted to cut down on my tobacco intake, maybe just evenings and not at work. I immediately found that the juice was sufficient for me, and I stick around 18mg strength, with a brief foray into 24mg just to see what the difference is. I intend to gradually cut the mg levels down in time, but I'm concerned that quitting the tobacco was the easy bit, and quitting the nicotine is going to be harder. I really ought to get some 0 nic juice just to see how I get on with it, but always bottle out at the last minute and get some 18mg instead - too expensive to play around with! I too will always ensure that I have some juice handy in case I get the urge, but already have noticed that I vape less than I used to smoke, and for not as long - a few puffs now satisfy me, rather than a whole rollie. I was out socially yesterday, and after being inside for an hour or so, had a stealth vape just to quell my desire. I could have probably lasted out for another hour, but it was in my pocket, and no harm done to anyone else, so . . . I would be interested to know how other people have dealt with the nicotine addiction after switching to vaping. Andy

It's only Nicotine. As has been said before you die from the Tar not the Nicotine. Everything has a certain level of risk associated to it. No alcohol, no nicotine and no fun is my feeling on it. We've got to live a little, at least.

Past experience tells me that the overpowering urge to smoke can hit after as long as a year cig free, so I plan to always have a small amount of juice on hand to save me falling into the trap of having just one cigarette to kill the craving. I'd quit smoking for 6 years & took it up again for 6 weeks before Chrissie & Perpy got me onto e-cigs. I chain vaped 11mg-20mg & have been chain vaping 0mg for a couple of months. I still have nic juices & occasionally drip them, mainly as a change of flavour. I find the nicotine makes the tip of my tongue tingle & leaves a chemical after taste so I prefer the taste of 0mg. The throat hit has gone tho'. I need to remember to request higher PG to VG ratio on my next orders & hope to get more of a throat hit. It would be great to hear of people who eventually quit vaping but I suppose that when they do quit vaping they also cease to be active on forums like this. I have no intention of ever quitting chain vaping. I enjoy it to much. I don't think I would cease to be active on AAE-C if I did quit vaping. Why would I? Its too enjoyable
