Got my first e-cig, a DSE 901 kit yesterday, and have been greatly enjoying my first day of vaping and my first day in 15 years without tobacco. I thought, this it it, finally I'm free. Just now I caved in and made an American Spirit roll up. I have to say the rush from the cigarette was incredible. I could feel the chemicals from the cigarette flooding through my body stimulating every nerve and brain cell. The feeling of wellbeing was intense and my mood really took flight. The world seemed a better place and I felt better being in it. Somehow the vaping just isn't hitting the same sweet spot as the tobacco. Maybe I need a higher nicotine content, currently using 18mg. Maybe there are other chemicals in tobacco that provide the rush. I'm not giving up yet. Not sure where this journey is heading though. The tobacco hit and taste after 24 hours withdrawal was fantastic. Maybe I can use vaping to keep me going between the occasional fag.

Don't beat yourself up - I would suggest trying a higher nic content, especially if you are a roll up man/ Paradise Vapes and OK Smokey both do roll-up tobacco flavours - I'd suggest trying them

You are so welcome Popoyaya The DSE901 you have is a great e-cig to get folks started on as it's not too much bigger in size than a real cig. And size does matter to a lot of newbies However, at some stage, you may want to try one of the larger models like the Riva - you can buy it as a 901 version so your atomiser will be compatible. But you could also use LR (Lower Resistance) 901 atties with it & these burn hotter than standard atties, giving you more throat hit & vapour. Link to the Riva 901 www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=83If you do decide to buy the above you can get a15% discount by using the code ECR69

I second all the responses you've had so far, Popo, and to our little forum I smoked 6 cigarettes instead of 60 on my first vaping day and whittled them down during the first week, coming off rollies for ever (so far) after 6 days. But others like the odd cig now and then and that's fine Any reduction in tobacco must be good! American Spirit? I was a stuck-in-the-mud Golden Virginia gal Anyway, it's nice to see ya - get a Riva and some stronger juice if you've got dosh to spare (... and a tank and some LR atties and... ) scylla

Hi there Pop and welcome Goodness, that is soo very much like I felt at first (but with a different rollie tobacco!- Cutters Choice). I didn't mean to give up the rollies altogether, just to cut down like. I started on the same e-cig as you and still use it now and again. I bought 36mg strength liquid at first but found it made me a bit nicotined out so now use 24mg which I am happy with. After a while, (it was about a week of faffing about with atomisers/cartridge/ filling/juice combinations and making sure I always had a charged battery) I found I actually prefered vaping to smoking. For me, it took no effort at all and there was no pain with withdrawal symptoms. I had three roll-ups whilst out yesterday and it felt really weird to be smoking again. It felt very harsh in comparison to vaping and I could really smell the stale smoke later which was horrible beepxxx

Well... This thread is really interesting for me ! First, because there's no doubt that smoking analogs must provide more rush(after all we're risking our life, it's almost like adrenaline) and the tobacco industry has been tweaking (right word?!) cigar contents with illegal substances such as amoniac in legal qtts to give you that special feeling and also getting you addicted! Second, Apart from my beloved Luckies and at times where money wasn't that much I used to roll. AmberLeaf, Drum, Amsterdam being the choices! Are there liqs which taste is similar to any of these tobaccoes?! Thanks.. popoyaya, I'm yet to try the wonders of real vaping and I've thought about that problem over and over again.. But if you look at the whole picture you got to give in: - you're not painting your lungs with black not-removable ink - you're not exposing yourself to lung or tong camcer (at least your dramatically reducing the risk) - you'll breath, taste, smell and look better (not so much skin damage ) - you won't need to buy smints, extra perfume to carry on purse or pocket - your car won't lose value if you plan to sell it (and that's an issue sometimes in Portugal) - you won't feel bad for "smoking" if you're next to a non-smoker! Just explain previously and I bet they will understand.... And these are some of the points I guess can help you taking the final step (again I haven't tried it yet, but one thing's certain: i guess if I don't get used to vap i'll quit smoking sooner or later! The pleasure is huge but so many drawbacks!! C'mon, is like being married with a cheating wife/husband just bcause she's a really good **** ! d*mn! What's to lose about leaving her for a dedicated loving woman that will only do a few positiond? Long term thinking, it's all about self preservation! Your penis won't last forever, neither will your health/lungs)

Have you ordered anything yet, Aldo? Whatever you buy from the UK will not incur any taxes entering Portugal, so you can splash out scylla

Hiya pop, Im also a newb and I have exactly the same issue as you, I'm using 18ml juice and it doesn't seem as potent as tobacco. The first cigarette of the day is the one I enjoy most, you get that rush in your head and the nicotine buzz, the e-cig doesn't deliver the same hit, I believe it's because I'm a hand rolled baccy smoker. I've ordered some of the tobacco flavoured juice from oksmokey at 36ml, I shall try it and report back. All I can say is don't give up, the good people here have been most helpful to me, I've tried the e-cig before but ignorence and a poor product put me off, I now have a DSE901 which I find excellent, I haven't bought any baccy since I started vaping and hope not to, I shall persevere. Good luck.

Wow TP, it sounds like you are doing so well - well done Let us know how you get on with the higher nic juice. Another thought would be to go for a higher power e-cig like the Riva & use an LR attie on it - they produce more throat hit. You could go for the Riva 901 version which would mean your attie that you have already would still fit it www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=83

Yup. It's early days yet to be thinking of upgrading, I'll give the juice a try and see how that goes first.
