Ah but mine goes up to 100 meg very soon, then 110 after that Saying that, how high will it/can it go? Not sure you need more than 50 really, 75 or 100 meg would be, err mega It's the upload speeds that suck on Virgin, and british broadband in general.... The main reason for faster unlimited broadband is for file sharing, there's no point in having stupidly fast downloads, if you can't share it back, especially if you use private trackers, as we have to these days. The problem is you have to keep a 1:1 share ratio, so you can technically only download as fast as your upload speed

if you want to nose at your router inside change wep key to a new one try here and look for your router listed ,has user and pw to gain access to most of them ,www.portforward.com...... I presume you mean WPA or WPA2 rather than WEP? It is best to avoid using WEP whereever possible, far to easy to crack. Meeee

I got Sky FTTC a while back because they don't throttle P2P. Maybe it is a little more expensive, but I'm happy with it. Haven't disconnected in months and speeds are consistent.

What package are you on ewol, and what is your actual true speed... I'm interested to see how close these BT Network FFTC/FTTN packages get to their advertised speeds.

I'm on the 40/10 package because I can't afford the higher package.
Although they call it 40/10 I've been told it's more like 38/8 and that's pretty consistant with my speedtest results.
Last Result: Download Speed: 37679 kbps (4709.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 8477 kbps (1059.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 13 ms

That's what I was talking about earlier in the thread with the advertised speeds of sky, BT and talktalk, they all offer the same product, which runs on the same network, but some have chosen to label their packages as 40mb and 80mb, where others have labelled them a little more honestly at 38mb and 76mb, that's my understanding of it anyway. I believe the upload speeds can genuinely go up to 10mb and 20mb though, or at least I thought they did :/
