Hi all
1st of all, Thanks! for such a wonderful forum!! This is my 1st post, so please bear with me if there are any daft questions.
OK, having spent the last few days researching, I think I'm ready to order...for the 2nd time.
I'm a 20+ a day (lights) smoker and have been at it for 20+ years, so when I heard of e-cigs a few days ago, i knew I had to give them a try. I started with 'skycig' but have quickly become frustrated due to the short battery and cartridge life. However, the good things are the included PCC and the fact that they are the size of normal cigs.
Well, I've narrowed down on Riva 510 and have noticed that only LF and Cloud9 seem to sell it in the UK. What has been your experience with their starter kits? Are there any other vendors in the UK?
Further, the starter kit at LF is cheaper (and has a bigger battery), but doesn't come with a wall charger, whereas C9's does. Wouldn't a USB charger take a lot longer time than a wall charger? LF don't seem to sell a separate wall charger at all! what do you guys think - is a wall charger a must have? If yes, then if I buy one from C9, will it work with the kit from LF?
2ndly, LF only provide blank carts and I'm too lazy to fill them with juice and would much rather prefer pre-filled ones. Here too (unless I have missed them), LF don't have pre-filled 510 carts? Again, can I buy pre-filled carts from C9 and use them on the LF kit?
Finally, instead of going thru' all this pain, is it recommended to buy the entire starter kit from C9 instead of LF? I am hesitant to buy from C9 as LF seems to be a lot more popular than any other vendor, let alone C9.
Will sincerely appreciate any inputs.

Now fortunately this is an independent forum so I can say this: I personally would advise you to buy from LF rather than C9 as I had a bad experience with C9 as a newbie and found their stuff to be crap. LF in my opinion has a far better track record and will sort out problems if you are not happy. I would also advise you to look at the Tornado on the Totally Wicked site as this is what I have been using for over 6 months without any problems. The tornado I bought is as good now as day1. Others on this forum who have had good experience with C9 may contest this to try and balance things but this is my opinion solely based on my experience. I wish you well in whatever choice you make. Ken.

Hello & welcome from me as well Jason I've never tried a Riva myself as I've been using big battery mods since before Riva's where available. However, I know that many on the forum love & highly recommend the Riva. If you go for the cheaper one from LF, you can also get a further 15% off the price by using the discount code ECR69 at checkout. Re a wall charger, I'm certain if you find you need one at a later date, the one from C9 will fit. As for prefilled carts, they do work out a lot more expensive than filling/refilling carts with juice (it's easy honest ) Plus you have such a bigger choice of flavours. Lol, I'm not going to contest what Kenny says as he is entitled to his opinion but just have to say I have had very good service from both Liberty Flights & Cloud 9

What has been your experience with their starter kits? My mate has just ordered the 510 Riva kit from LF... it came pretty much next day.Further, the starter kit at LF is cheaper (and has a bigger battery), but doesn't come with a wall charger, whereas C9's does. LF have a limited edition Riva 510 kit at the moment. It's stainless, looks really nice and comes with a wall charger. It vapes well with an LR atty, decent vapour, throat hit and taste. With the discount code ECR69 it comes in at £30.88 posted.Wouldn't a USB charger take a lot longer time than a wall charger? In theory, they should take around the same time as the output voltage for both is around 5v.LF don't seem to sell a separate wall charger at all! what do you guys think - is a wall charger a must have? If yes, then if I buy one from C9, will it work with the kit from LF? See above but no, it's not essential and yes, they should work on either companies battery.2ndly, LF only provide blank carts and I'm too lazy to fill them with juice and would much rather prefer pre-filled ones. Here too (unless I have missed them), LF don't have pre-filled 510 carts? Just fill/re-fill them, it's easy, takes seconds and cheaper in the long run.Again, can I buy pre-filled carts from C9 and use them on the LF kit? Yes.Finally, instead of going thru' all this pain, is it recommended to buy the entire starter kit from C9 instead of LF? I am hesitant to buy from C9 as LF seems to be a lot more popular than any other vendor, let alone C9. Your choice entirely. I only have experience of LF and so far, they have been spot on.Finally, welcome Jason... congrats on taking the first step. You'll get nothing but friendly, impartial advice and encouragement here. Sean

Welcome to the forum, Jason and you will be much happier filling your own carts, than using the pre-filled ones.

Thanks a lot guys for all the encouragement! It's just amazing how much goodwill people are willing to spread to absolute strangers I think I'll go ahead and order the Riva 510 from LF; will post back my experience with them. My only other question is why isn't the NHS promoting them (instead of the yucky nicotine gum)

Jason, we just want to help let people know about e-cigs & the best deals going And you are already so not a stranger And the biggest boost to all of us is hearing how folks get on - even if it's not 100% good news "why isn't the NHS promoting them (instead of the yucky nicotine gum)" Simple answer - no funding from the Big Pharmaceutical companies They push all of their drugs onto the NHS & go out of their way to make sure no alternatives are used!

And because they'll want approximately 4 gazillion years of tests to prove they're safe... I mean, how much less safe than cigarettes can they be? Sean

Tobacco companies... large, rich, powerful... against anything that may hit their money intake. Pharmaceutical... large, rich, powerful... against anything that may hit their money intake. Government... large, not quite so rich, powerful... against anything that may hit their tax intake. [/cynacism_off] Sean

Sadly Jerry, Big Pharm have the money to get their dirty claws into everything Sean, you are right, all 3 have vested interest in doing everything they can to discourage folks using the best alternative to smoking. IMHO though it's the drug companies that have the most power. Some interesting facts here about pharmaceutical companies (US) : - noedb.org/library/features/25-shocking-facts-about-the-pharmaceutical-industry

Hiya Jason
I bougt a Riva 510 kit from LF just a few weeks ago and it DOES come with a plug thing so you can plug you bat into the wall socket.
Welcome to the group as well. I doubt you will find a more helpful or friendlier place on the web. I have asked many a daft question and have never been threaten with the stupid stick.

Wotsit, as Scylla would say, the only daft questions are the ones you don't ask
