Hi (not sure about the terminology, so bear with me) Just signed up and been doing some research into which kit I want to go with longterm. Started on e-lites a few weeks ago, but realised that the batteries are a bit rubbish and the cartridges don't last very long. Obviously, also realising there's a whole new world of flavours etc with better kit and much cheaper than e-lites system. Most of the info is already obvious here and plenty of info on starter kits etc, but a couple of things I can't find definite answers on. 1) Are there different thread standards between batteries and cartridges/atomisers or has everyone adopted the same thread standard so everything is completely interchangeable? (ie can I re use these e-lite batteries with any system). I'm guessing different designs/thread standards by different makers, but not sure. 2) Do you need different cartomisers/clearomisers (?) for each e-liquid flavour you've purchased or can the same cartomiser/clearomiser be re used with different flavours?. I'm trying to fathom out why companies would sell packs of 5 clearomisers, unless it's because they don't last very long or it's best to not use different flavours of e-liquid in the same cartomiser/clearomiser?. Cheers Hoppers

hi like you found this forum and been a great help understanding,i first bought a DSE901,bit like yours but really got fed up with battery and juice running out, after looking here i opted for this www.exhalecigarette.co.uk/eXhale-CE5-Starter-Kit-p/ece5sk.htm[use AAEC for discount code ] and to be honest not looked back, really enjoy it,battery lasts a long time, only charged it twice in over a week on both, very easy to fill to ,i used both for virginia blend i had, then i bought somne RY4 to try was surprised how nice it was,if you do want to try that kit will suggest getting some juce from there as well pretty reasonable priced, saves on postage using different, rest from what i gather in flavours is upto you ,even though been at vaping as it called for only 10 days ,already got stuff to make my own so should be fun thers plenty of advice here and there all willing to help as i found out no matter how silly the question may sound, end of day we all have to start somewhere ....... ps if you was a heavy smoker go for 24mg nicotine i started at 38 down to 24mg after a week lol look here to: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newmembers&thread=1148&page=1#23191

Cheers Hoppers Hi Hoopers & Your question 1. There are different threads, by far the most common is 510 and Ego, the Ego has 2 threads though one being a 510, so is compatible. You are correct different manufacturers especially of Cigarettes look a-likes can use their own threads so you have to go back to them for (expensive mostly) supplies. Unfortunately E-lites use their own threads on most of their stuff, though not all! Your question 2 "2) Do you need different cartomisers/clearomisers (?) for each e-liquid flavour you've purchased" Cartomisers generally yes as they contain an absorbent wadding which holds the liquid, this can become tainted by strong flavours, you can try washing them out but you'll get mixed results. Clearomisers don't have the wadding so are easier to clean and are less prone to taining but very strong flavours can still taint them, they are easier to clean. Clearomisers/Cartomisers/Atomisers are all consumable items and have a finite life usually a minimum of one week but some can last weeks/months. Therefore you should ALWAYS have Back-ups! We can advise you on a kit that has both Cartomisers and Clearomisers in it so you can try both and see which you prefer. If you want to try a few different liquids we recommend an atomiser which is like a cartomiser but with no wadding and can be rinsed out between flavours, using a atomiser this way is called "dripping". It really is a trial and error and learning process but when you find what is right for you the results can be amazing. However we are here to help, keep asking no question is stupid. Good Luck!

Hi hoppers and welcome. Most stuff now uses a 510 thread, but there are other standards in use as well so best to check. Cartomisers last for a matter of days if you use one constantly and while not impossible it is difficult to change the flavour in one. Clearomisers like the eGo Vision last for a lot longer and are easy to wash out and change juice in. They are both consumeables though, so always a good idea to have a few in stock!
As I guessed you have stereo responses!

Hello & welcome Hoppers The kit that Andy has linked to is a really good deal & the discount code gives you 12.5% off. Most e-cigs sold by the good UK vendors, have 510 threads these days. However, your e-lite isn't compatible with 510's or any other e-cigs. No you don't need different cartomisers/clearomisers for each e-liquid. But though cartomisers etc can be refilled several times over, they will after a while start to wimp out & need replacing.

Welcome hoppers. Don't waste any time or money trying to save your E-Lite stuff. Charge up the batt's, top up a cart or two and keep them somewhere safe for emergency. If there was ever a Zombie apocalypse, or the internet "broke" or all of the retailers quit selling stuff, then they might have some use. Get yourself some 510 threaded batteries, some cartomisers and clearomisers and start doing things better and cheaper. Initial outlay is a bit scary, but it's worth it. Personally, I'm working/planning on using cartomisers at little as possible. A cartridge (to use with an atomizer) costs 40p. A cartomiser costs £1.20 A clearomiser costs £4+ In the early days, you WILL want to try all the sweets in the shop (buy a lot of flavours) so if you can afford £1.20, just go straight in one of those. Personally, I would jump at 5 pack of clearos, except they'll be the disposable ones, which are a bit dodgy. My plan is to build a collection of repairable/replaceable type ones, where you can swap the heads/bases/tubes. Currently I'm trial-ing Mini Nova, Kanger T3s and Vision V3s.

Go for the Vision rebuildable clearomisers, and you only have to change the atomiser head (atty) about once every 2-3 weeks, depending on usage. They are easy to rinse in hot water and can be used over and over. I rinse mine every couple of days, and have only had to change one atty in 3 weeks! All the other components are reuseable. They are a bit more expensive to buy initially, but the longevity of the item makes this well worth while. They use a standard eGo 510 fitting so can be used on any eGo, Joyetech or clone battery with a 510 thread. Hope this helps!

Yep, that's my experience. Some people can get weeks out of one carto! I get anything from 24 hours to 5 days. I lost a lot over a period of a week, and am now trying to get 4 times as long out of a clearo that's 4 times as expensive (as a carto). Early days are looking good. I've had a mini vivi nova for 3 weeks now, that's 50p a day....better value than trashing carts if you ask me.

Hi Thanks for the info and hello, looks like I will just accept the wasted money and drop e-lite altogether then. I've got some sample e-liquids on the way and, in the short term, I'd intended re filling the e-lite cartridges I've kept (it seems fairly easy to refill them) until I get a new kit. The eXhale kit recommended looks good and a great price. I was just wondering how adaptable/switchable/versatile the components are. Could you use other Clearomisers/Cartomisers/Atomisers consumables at a later date from other suppliers, or are you kind of tied into eXhale products?. Can you swap batteries around from other kits?. As I'd already decided I liked the clearomiser design, I was going to dive straight in and buy the Vape Escape Vision 1000. So, a question, If I were to buy the eXhale kit to see if I really got on with e-cigs, then at a later date buy the VE vision 1000 kit. Will all the bits from both kits be interchangeable with each other???. For example, will I be able to use a battery from the eXhale kit with a clearomiser from the VE vision 1000 kit???. and the other way round?
