Thanks I am defo going down the mix your own path though I think esp for the non-complicated flavours. Liking the minty/menthol flavours means even if I bugger something up I can rescue it with a few drops of menthol and all is good. In fact I amhaving a little mixing fun right now as my DV flavourings came this morning. Coconut is lovely but I have gone from a little too weak to a little too strong. I hope I have cracked it now as its a lovely toasted coconut flavour. Cafe Brasliano is another winner. Its very dark and thick and I am mixing with VG as I havent got any PG at the moment. Its really moreish but is not soaking up very well in the cartos. Menthoyptus WOW blow my head off even using a tiny amount. I have weaken it down again and still REALLY REALLY strong but brilliant too. What with these and the lovely cinamint thing I mixed yesterday I am in vaping heaven

Hi take what i say with a pinch of salt as i havent even treid mixing yet , but i think its best to get your nic liquid in PG then you can cut it with VG which is very cheap from Boots ect , whereas PG is harder to get hold of

I can just about use my mobile for calls/texts Tony . . . technical is not my middle name :-[ . . . but it's a fab widget for anyone that can. . . . along with Mrl's link. Have to say I tend to go the 50/50 route . . . if I've a PG base then I use VG to top up with, then vice versa . . . but it's all very random with me.

My forays into flavouring haven't gone well, Furbie, and I've never mixed my own juice even tho' I've got PG and VG here aplenty I've also got a big bottle of food grade vanilla extract, there's no excuse really. I think it's advisable to use distilled water or vodka to thin down VG, but apart from that we'll have to wait for a hardened juice-mixer to come along. scylla

Right after reading more i don't think vanilla is the way to go, i will leave that to the experts. I have VG and peppermint extract, am i right in thinking 4ml of VG and 1ml peppermint, would i need to thin it with water or vodka. If you don't think this is a good idea feel free to let me know. ( i don't really like the nic juices and i have still only had 1 cig since i got my 501 so would really like to find a flavour i can diy just till i find an online one i love) Thankyou again

Furball,it seems most peppermint extracts are oil based.Whilst i cant say either way if theyre ok for you, your atties will probably get clogged up.

Have to say Furbie, when I read you wanted to try vanilla, my heart sank . . . as it's one of the flavours that tasted like poison to me. But you could like it, as individual taste buds are contrary creatures. Is your peppermint extract a supermarket flavouring? If so, make sure it's not oil based, as it will kill your atomiser . . . also if it is, supermarket flavours do tend to be a bit weaker than those from the ecig suppliers. I'd go with your 4ml/1ml to start with, as it's easy enough to add a little more, not so easy to take it out. Also, I'd pop a couple of drops voddie/distilled water into that mix, it helps with the throat hit and stops the mixture being quite so gloppy.

Ethanol = alcohol so at 1% oil it doesnt sound that much.....but if your attie goes in a couple of days you'll know why.
PS try DV custard yum yum ;-)
