TRying to get to grips with my lt. GOT two new vivi's with the 3 different heads. IT seems to work out the lower resistance head the higher voltage I need for similar taste/sensation, but this seems back to front to me?? So are my taste buds telling me lies or am I being thick???

Lower resistance - lower voltage Higher resistance - higher voltage

That's what I thought it should be! How very weird then as I started from low voltage and gradually increased to my liking and my 1.8ohm head has got stronger voltage for my liking than my 2.4ohm!!! Bizarre!!!

Bizarre!!! As Blakey says normally the lower the resistance the lower the voltage needed to get it up to vaping temperature as the electricity can flow more easily. The key word here is resistance, the higher the resistance the less electricity flows through the coil. Voltage is like pressure, resistance is a restriction in flow. So yes; your observations seem to fly in the face of that!

Can someone enlighten me please. I use a Riva and a twist. When I have put a 1.8 in my nova or visions everything tastes burnt. I have tried a few different juices but its always a bitter burnt taste. Am I doing something wrong? Everyone else seems to get on ok with them but I always end up going back to my 2.4

Unless you are Ratfinz you need a low voltage with a 1.8. Try turning your twist right down. I've heard it said that the Riva is unsuitable for low res, maybe it generates a slightly higher voltage?
How likely you are to burn it also depends on how you draw. A long draw will burn at lower volts/higher resistance than a short one.

I wonder if your vivi head is wrongly labelled Ratfinkz? Got a multimeter? Know someone who does?

Give it a clean and a dry burn making sure the coil glows red / orange, rinse and repeat, dry and then use between 3.7 and 4.2v

With your Riva the 2.4 ohm atty will heat up with about 5.7watts of power, whereas the 1.8 ohm atty will run at 7.6watts (i.e. hotter)
On your Twist you only need about 3.2V with your 1.8 ohm atty to achive the same heat as your 2.4ohm atty on your Riva.

Padiho, if your putting the 1.8 on a newly charged Riva the riva will be outputting 4.2 so could easily make your juice taste burned. Try it on the Twist, turn the dial down as far as it will go and see how you go from there. If you feel you need more of a 'hit' turn the dial up just a tiny bit at a time

One thing I've found since I've been testing various clearo/tank type things for work is that the labelled resistance on some heads can be out a little. For example the 1.8 head I'm currently using reads 2.1 on my provari

True, when testing heads/cartos etc on my Provari most of them seem to be +/- 0.4ohms from their target. So going by that you could potentially have 2 heads that say they're 2.4ohms but actually one is 2.0 and the other is 2.8. Look at it that way and there's a potential for a huge difference in taste.
