Hi everyone I recently have been making my own flavours, using a online calculator which has a default of 20% set for flavour ? My question is, is that too strong or the average ? I've made many different flavours, some seem ok but some seem over powering. Also made some Root beer because when I was a kid Mc Donald's used to sell it, and I thought yeah it would bring back memory's !! Oh my god it was like vaping antiseptic cream At least I won't get a sore throat . Maybe someone could recommend a good basic recipe to start with?

You need to set your own flavour % as all flavours are different.Start small mix say 5mls and small % flavour you can always add more flavour but can never take it out Hope this helps

made some Root beer because when I was a kid Mc Donald's used to sell it, and I thought yeah it would bring back memory's !! Oh my god it was like vaping antiseptic cream At least I won't get a sore throat . Taste seems to be very personal. I mix pretty much everything at 20% flavour, but a lot of people do less. I use only PG for reasons of my own, but most people would have 30% VG. I mix a fair amount of PG and nic in a 100ml bottle, 9 parts PG to 7 parts 52 mg nic (most people would have maybe 6 parts PG, 3 parts VG, 7 parts 52mg nic, depending on what their nic came with). Then 80% of that and 20% flavouring gives me a 19mg juice. Lots of recipes here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=mixology&thread=12015&page=1#270843 but personally I haven't had much luck with them (except mine of course but quite likely other people won't like that either) I'd start simple - pick a basic flavour you like - coffee, orange, chocolate, whatever, look at reviews and just make that. Liberty flights is good at showing reviews of flavours. Decadent Vapours (DV) are good flavours but expensive (still cheap compared to ready-mix) www.liberty-flights.co.uk/category.asp?categoryid=13 A recipe suggestion: Most people like chocolate mints. I'd do it by making maybe 10 ml chocolate and 5 ml peppermint separately. Let them steep for a few days, vape each (couple of drops on an atty). If the chocolate tastes weak put some more flavouring in (keep a record) and steep a few more days. When you have a decent choc, put 3ml in a different bottle, add maybe 10 drops of the peppermint, shake, drip and vape. If you can't taste the peppermint, add a few drops more, shake, and drip again. Keep a record of what you are doing. When it tastes OK you have a recipe. It'll improve if you steep it a while. Make some more up, steep, and then put a little in a bottle and see what it tastes like if you add a drop of menthol. I used 20% flavouring, cupcake world for the choc (http://www.cupcake-world.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=144&products_id=1462) and DV pepermint because that's what I had - I started with DV flavours, realised how expensive they were and went to CCW. The menthol I made from crystals from Boots. I didn't use much peppermint, and more than a drop of menthol in 3ml was too much. I have vv, so if something tastes weak, I can dial it up. If you don't you might like to start with 30% choc flavour, add some PG/VG if it is too strong after steeping. (Edited to say that I just tried my 20% choc again, and I doubt if you'll want to go stronger)
