I cant touch alcohol because i had a drink problem stopped drinking many years ago, the reason im going to ask this question is. I ordered some Triphammers strawberry and champagne for my wife on the web site vapeescape it states it contains alcohol. A vapor i know has said that because i have a AGA-T the ss mesh should burn of any alcohol before i inhaled the vapor personally i don't think so and would not take that chance.
We sort of got in to a discussion about this as he is also a alcoholic, and asked the wife if she would let him have a vape she said no i agreed, i was wondering if any one on the forum could shed some light about this Since i started vaping another vapor had put me right in telling me to look out for any eliquid that contained alcohol and to avoid it.

There is a thread somewhere about it, but be darned if I can get it up on search. Whilst you're waiting for someone in the know, maybe see if you can get the search to get it for you.

Hi Rab, I had a drink problem too and consider myself an alcoholic I am not an expert on the subject so please don't take this as gospel but it is my understanding so far! there can be alcohol in juices used in two different ways, some juices (there are lots and lots with neither types in) contain alcohol which is used for flavouring, so it will be a very small amount and then that is then diluted in the e-liquid so the end result of the amount of alcohol will be very, very small and mostly likely evaporated by the atomiser. Then I think sometimes an ethynol/ethyl base is used for some juices also, again lots and lots of juices don't contain it, I don't think much alcohol is left in your vape when either process has been used but I don't use anything that contains alcohol, so I contact each vendor before I buy a juice and ask first (I have recently messed up and bought one containing alcohol but as soon as I realised I stopped vaping and sold it!) So it really is preference, if you feel uncomfortable with it, don't use it......for me if I know something contains alcohol and I still decide to vape it that feels like a dangerous decision for my head, I guess because if I decide vaping it is ok, then is the next thing a boozy mince pie, then a teeny tiny little glass of wine, then a much much bigger glass of wine and so on, I know me well enough to steer very very clear! but that's just me! also I have a ever expanding list of booze free e-liquids, where I have already chatted to the vendor and checked if you want that give me a shout

I think a lot of eliquid contains a very tiny amount, especially ones which are either high vg or low nic content just to give a throat hit. Although I don't have any experience with alcoholism, I doubt very much that the amount of alcohol in the entire bottle of eliquid would be enough to feel any effect from, let alone having it vaporised and inhaled in a few ml a day.
I'm not saying that its fine to let him have alcohol flavoured ejuice just because it won't effect him. It might, but the alcohol content it's self is nothing to be worried about.

Im by no means an expert at this, but as there is often vodka added to vg as a thinning agent. That it would be vapourised by the high temperatures needed to vape any liquid.
I guess, that in the end its your decision.

You're highly unlikely to find vodka in any pre-thinned, purchased through Vendor's VG Brian . . . they'll be using distilled water for the job.

To be 100% certain you`d be better off mixing you own so you know exactly what is going into your juices. It is not just the base that may contain it but the flavourings too.

Could you not just leave it with the cap off on a radiator for a week or so, any alcohol would evaporate. If it gets too thick, add distilled water.

I can only comment on how I do it and what I use.
All my juices have 0% alcohol apart from when I make Vodka and Lime. All concentrates are Propylene Glycol, not alcohol based.
Three out of about 100 different flavour concentrates I use have been manufactured using Ethanol or alcohol as the solvent to extract the flavour, but then the solvent is evaporated or distilled off and the flavour is then carried by using Propylene Glycol. 0% Alcohol remains.
However, If you use, for example a supermarket vanilla essence or other flavours, it may well contain alcohol. As may any number of cakes and patisseries or sweets you buy that are shop made…. But, after processing the shop cakes etc, will contain such minute and residual quantities that a spectrometer would have trouble detecting it, let alone your taste buds.
Thinning, if needed, is done by distilled or de-ionised water, but usually in the adjustment of PG/VG ratios.
Home users / mixers, can use Vodka to thin, and get a increased TH from it. Commercially, it is not viable.

Thanks for the feedback folks, I sort of guested the atomizer would burn Of the alcohol. I'm like you Hans I steer clear if something has The alcohol in it if I wanted a drink I would have won no point Looking for a substitute I know where that would lead.
