Anyone using this yet ? Am thinking of upgrading while the price is right. £25 seems pretty darn reasonable.

Would this upgrade work on a barely used tower PC, that still Windows XP on it? And . . . more importantly, is it easy to do said upgrade?

Fabulous, thank you Howie . . . it won't remove all my piccies and documents will it?
I'll shoot you a PM for the key, seems silly not to upgrade as XP is going to be obsolete before long and I'm nursing my lappy along now. I'd like a back up bigger than a tablet really.

Had a look at the upgrade assistant yesterday and seems i may lose a couple of my programs, which are not compatible, but this can be remedied by downloading new Apps from the Microsoft store.

Lovely job, thank you gents for the advice and Howie for the PM.
I'll check my PC with the Upgrade Assistant firstly . . . don't mind if I lose any programs, there's not much on there really as I use the lappy mainly . . . as long as my photo's are safe, then I can happily manage.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Never install a Microsoft product until Service pack 1 You get what you pay for. It might be "cool" on a phone/tablet, sucks on a PC/Laptop. I

I Not going to get into this debate it's discussed on other forums. I think it just comes down to personal opinions really. A bit like if you don't like what you are watching on TV don't bitch about it just turn over.

A bit like if you don't like what you are watching on TV don't bitch about it just turn over. Or people tell a newb to just go ahead and install something that the newb neither needs nor knows anything about. It's reckless. So, I offer a few words to live by. Perhaps they may serve others as well. But as you mention...opinions...truth is relative.

If you want to keep some of the familiar features like the start button and menu, there are downloadable add-ons.
