I think our area has come off lightly compared to some parts of the UK Queenie. At least I've not seen, or heard of any major damage in South Yorkshire yet - apart from my brother in law that is. His neighbour went to tell him that his gate had blown down and as he was going out to survey the damage, he tripped over the doorstep and fell to the ground and couldn't get up. We got a phone call telling us that an ambulance had been called and he was on his way to the hospital. My hubby has just phoned me from the hospital and said that they were waiting for x-ray results and they suspect he's broken some ribs.
Hope all forum members are ok and have not suffered any damage from the winds or floods.

I was awake most of the night with the gale that was blowing outside and the rain battering the bedroom window all night, but by the afternoon it had calmed right down and the sun came out. Feel sorry for all the people in the west struggling with the floods.

It was pretty nasty here in west yorks last night has calmed down today. it calmed down here at lunchtime I live just on edged off Pennines and its windy here at the best of times lol  went into barnsley today and there were a few branches blown down and a great deal if surface water but like you say last night was windy. I just hope that's it now for the uk for the winter but seems to be happening more and more |

I m underwater in West Wales , a river on my track , flooding in the valley and water on the road . An inch or 2 more and I m basicly cut off , I ll have to walk the valley into town (6 mile ) to get to a bridge I can cross to buy food lol . As usual had a crisis amidst it all , had to bury my old Staffy on my place in all the sodden chaos . Heres to easier times for us all |
