I made a simple mix using 54mg pg based nic, vg and tuti fruity from cupcake world. It will not stay mixed it just separates within 5 min with the flavour sat on top as though it is oil. I tried warming the mix slightly to see if that helped but no luck. Anyone got any ideas? Attachments:

Are you 100% sure the flavouring isnt oil based? You could try warming it in a water bath. I think Frogster has the MSDS sheets for cupcake world flavours, he`ll be able to tell you as some are not suitable for vaping.

Guessing I would say the flavouring is not suitable for use in e-juice stick to known safe flavourings that are safe for inhalation a big difference to ingestion.

Doesn't say anything about an oil base - what does the list of ingredients on the bottle say?
Edit - just noticed this bit: Not suitable for use in : Soft Drinks Perhaps that's why?
Edit again: I've just been through the whole list of CCW flavours on the Safety Info thread that Frogster posted, and Tutti-Fruity is the ONLY flavour liste as being Not suitable for Soft Drinks. Sorry mzal, I think you picked the only flavour CCW do that's unsuitable for vaping :-[

I would think (only my thoughts on the subject)... but as no solvents have been used to extract then the flavour is most likely derived from cold pressing, then concentrated by some process.
The flavour is described as a "Mixed citrus fruit flavour", I think most cold presses of citrus fruits produce citrus oil, this could/would account for the separation when adding to VG or PG.... only my idea!

I had the same when using CCW lemon, although I'm not sure if it was purely down to the lemon as there were a few other new flavours in there (and I used de-ionised water for the first time) too.

CCW lemon is oil-based rather than PG, so not suitable for mixing

Sorry, but somehow missed this thread before. The weight/ml and refractive index both indicate that what you have is oil rather than water based. Aqueous solutions typically have a weight/ml near to or >1g and a refractive index of 1.3 - 1.4. Oils tend to be lighter/ml but have a higher refractive index. There are of course exceptions, but it definitely looks like you have an oil based liquid rather than aqueous, hence the separation. btw I'm no expert in food additives etc, just a simple chemist

Bloody bugger. I've got Tutti Frutti, and my orange does the same. Just ordered some lemon as well.

I'd be happy if I can use it as the smell's great, but I've just given it a shake this evening as it's still steeping, and there was a layer of it on the top of the mix.

What percentage of your mix is PG? If it's 50% or less, try increasing it and see if that helps. I'd have to look it up, but I'm not sure if VG is as effective as PG when it comes to getting oily flavourings to mix
